Well, as some of you might know I'm shipping out to basic training in less than a month. I have to leave my home for 6 years. The reason i'm feeling neglected is because my mom is acting like I'm going to change my mind or I'm coming back. She didn't talk to my recruiter or anything she is not even worried about me noone is. So when i ship out I just won't come back. I don't know anybody else feeling neglected.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Sounds like she's probably trying the whole guilt trip thing on you so you won't go. If it doesn't work she'll start to realize her mistake at some point. My only similar experience would be going to school and not going back home for the whole year. Usually this results in me getting phone calls from my mom asking what I'm doing, etc.

no i've been living in my home for 6 years i just enlisted for 3 years and 17 weeks i feel like she doesn't want me to go but then again she does because we don't really talk and i didn't tell her that once i leave i'm not coming back either because i'm going to die or because i'm going to keep moving
