I’m crappy at falling asleep as is, but it’s impossible when next to a girl. She sleeps like a rock though.

I speculate it is because:
  • A situational awareness/“protection mode” of the girl is on and won’t go off, ever present
  • For me to feel safe to fall asleep I need a “calm”, static, controlled environment. And it’s not that with a girl in it
  • The girl is something that catches attention, I’m not fully within myself
  • As usual my brain won’t switch off
The nights I haven’t sent the girl home in the middle of the night I’ve been surprised by how well rested I’ve been the next day, despite never really been sleeping, only some kind of shallow state. Though, could just be that I have a surplus of rest to take from.

It's not nice. A man is not anxious or stressed, he sleeps confidently.

Let me know if you’ve experienced the same and your remedy.

I lol-ed at the "sleep confidently" part.

Usually, with someone new, we either don’t sleep much because we’re squeezing in a few more rounds of sex, or she wants to stay up talking for a couple more hours, basically just making the most of the time we have together.

But if I’m in a relationship and I know we’ve got all the time in the world, I sleep like a rock.

I think if you're not sleeping well, it might be because you don’t fully trust the person next to you yet or maybe you’re just not totally comfortable with her yet.

I feel ya man. I don't sleep at random skeezes houses or let them stay over unless its late. If I know them better/seen them plenty, its fair and it doesn't affect my sleep.. Usually the other way around since I end up snoring in the early mornings.
