If you are using wireless and don't have the security set up properly, someone could connect through your home network and access whatever sites they want. Make sure your wireless security settings are configured correctly.
yeah, but they can't download stuff to your computer.

If you must look at porn, just look at adult girls, man.

Your ISP provider knows if you're viewing porn? I thought deleting cookies, history, internet files and anti-spyware prevents eavesdropping. And I thought they need physical access to your computer if you have a firewall.

Also, what's the legal case precedent for if a porn site certifies that all girls are 18+ but some of them actually aren't? It's not always evident based on looks alone.

Being sarcastic. There is no way to tell how many people look at porn each day. But I am sure its at least in the hundreds of millions. Its human nature.

yeah they do. Since you go thru them to connect they can obviously see it. It doesn't really matter though. A lotta ISPs aren't too worried about it, and you'll only get in trouble if they decide to investigate you.

Iono but those *******s always say "ignorance doesnt matter" cuz a girl can say she's 18 and you can both be drunk as **** (being drunk is legal) and you'll still get in trouble.

If your so worried about internet why don't you got to a book store and BUY PORN MAGS? If there's models under 18 the company is held responsible...

Heh,..half the guys posting on this thread have porn up in another window as they type. I loved how in that movie 'Enemy of the State' one of the first things they look up about Will Smith's character is "what kind of porn he's into."

The bad news is you have no privacy any more. The good news is everyone else is whacking off too.

Everything that goes through the wire and is not enciphered is visible at every point it passes. Your ISP, every router and gateway, any devices between you and the server plus of course the server can see the transfers. That includes email, web traffic and everything else except things that pass via VPN or SSL.

If you want private communications you have to use PGP GPG or something similar and hope the other endpoint isn't compromised. If you have data you really want to get rid of download 'eraser' (for Win32 systems) and use it.

On having an open WiFi access point; mine is open, but it's not on my personal LAN, I have to VPN in to get inside via WiFi. Having the access point open has proved to be a defense in at least one copyright infringement case, but I wouldn't count on it if 'they' find a bunch of stuff on your PC.

The 15 yr old that got arrested was looking at kiddie porn, which is illegal for EVERYONE. Even if you're a kid.
However, Regular porn is not illegal to watch if you're 18+.

Deleting all the 'cookies' and whatnot on your hard drive doesn't necessarily mean you're in the clear. "Deletion" simply means the space has become available to overwrite on. Until it is overwritten it remains on your computer. I believe there is even technology to recover items that have been re-written, so beware!

Haha I hope for your sake you're telling the truth here... as an IT professional I can tell you that sounded absolutely retarded. :p

Best solution is to watch porn that you are absolutely sure is legal... if you ever come across a site or file that is not legal immediately delete it and they will see that you weren't storing it on your computer if god forbid they ever do search your hard drive. FYI even if you formatted your drive several times the info can still be recovered by the FBI... or even a good data recovery program. The only way to really destroy data is to incinerate the drive.
