Look, I'm not doing great with women. I wish I was doing better. With that said, I'm trying to practice and, thanks to this site, I realize my value now more than ever.

If you talked to me at a party or a gathering, you'd probably be surprised that I've never had a gf. I'm average-looking and have a slight frame that I'm trying to improve, but I have everything else going for me. Heck, even I'm surprised I've been shut out, especially looking at one of my AFC friends (classic choir boy) have more success than me.

However, what's getting to me is that friends and family are solely blaming me for my shortcomings. I believe that I just haven't had the best luck yet for whatever reason. It's always "oh, you should've said this instead...." or "if you were more serious during the date you could've gotten her" or something like that.

It gnaws at me and makes me second-guess myself. How do you deal with outside factors such as these?

Right now...you have an opportunity to grow. Instead of complaining and feeling bad for yourself.....be indifferent. Learn to not let their stupid words affect you. You need to have this same attitude for women if you truly want to be successful.

You probably dont want to hear it, but its true. You ARE responsible. In this day in age....we have the ability to accomplish anything we want. Are there bumps on the way? Sure...maybe a limitation here and there....but ultimately if your mind is set on a path...it wont be stopped.

Good luck.

Unless you've been trying to hit on the same girl over and over, then the common theme to your lack of success is you, so they are partly right.

But it doesn't mean that everything they are telling you is correct.

Treat their advice exactly the same as you treat everything you read on this site: 1) Listen to it; 2) decide whether the person giving the advice is the voice of experience or is just making up theories; 3) ignore or act on that advice depending on what you decide.

Just try to keep an open mind here. When I first came to this site, a lot of the advice seemed totally counter-intuitive to what I already knew, but in practice some of it really worked.

Good luck!

More often now than I did before. Probably still not often enough, but way more than before.

You didn't really answer my question. In fact you told me absolutely nothing.

1. How many days per week do you go out to meet women?
2. How long do you stay out?
3. What is your typical approach?
4. What kind of venues do you go to in order to meet women?
5. What kind of venues do you go to in general?
6. How often do you stay at home, and for how long?
7. Do you play video games/watch TV?

These are all relevant; please answer them in detail and I can help you better.

The answer to Vices questions will probably gather all the information needed to help you. First off, please don't give a **** what others have to say. Meeting girls is quite the game. If you need to meet more women, you have to put yourself out there. What kind of girl do you like? Quite/introvert? Then approach a solo girl in a book store. Wanna bang a hot chick? Get couple of your buddies and go out to a club or bar. Athletic? Coed sports leagues. Try using meetup.com! I met a bunch of girls on that site.

Tell others you have not found the right one. Simple as that.

friends and family are solely blaming me for my shortcomings. I believe that I just haven't had the best luck yet for whatever reason.

Your mindset seems to define success as having a woman and failure as not having one. It is not nearly that simple. Trust me, plenty of women will make you a lot more miserable than you were without them. But when you're single, you tend to idealize any relationship. The people in relationships whom you view as "successful" may very well be unhappier than you.

this is so true. Several of my friends have expressed genuine jealously to me over my recent blessing of being single. A woman can be a great addition, but it can be a complete drag too. My first LTR basically sucked the life out of me. I couldn't see it until I finally go the balls to get out, and I realized how much better I was without a woman like that. My next LTR was a great addition to my life for many years. Things went south at the end, but when they were good, it was a good compliment to my life.

1. 1-2 days, if we're talking about the sole purpose of going out is to socialize and meet women. Usually once a week.
2. about 3 hours.
3. So I used to be completely reclusive, so this is a process. I generally just strike up a conversation; first with women from extended social circle (friends of friends) and then when I feel better, women who have no association with my circle.
4. I mean, I try to work on game throughout my every day life, so even when I go to the store, I try to strike up a conversation with the cashier. But if we're talking about "going out", so far I'm just going where my social circle goes---pretty much bars.
5. Hospital (that's my work), sporting events, bookstores, coffee shops, movie theaters, bars.
6. I work very long hours and am studying at the same time. So week days (Mon-Thurs, sometimes even Fri) I stay at home after work. I'm just too tired to do anything other than recuperate, eat, work out, spend an hour on my hobbies, and go to bed, since I have to wake up early.
7. TV--I like shows and movies (screenwriting used to be a big hobby of mine), I also find it gives me something to talk about during conversations.

Please let me know if you need more detail or anything else. I appreciate all the help I can get. I think part of it is just that I need to keep practicing more out in real life, less theory, and hopefully build positive experiences with good outcomes.

Yeah, part of it is that I haven't had a relationship, so that's probably why.

Another is that my cultural background probably puts more emphasis on this stuff than it should. And when I tell them I'm single, they act like I must be socially-retarded or something and that I need "help" in talking to women.

you have to tune out the family/background pressures. When my LTR and I broke up my family acts like I lost all my children in a fire. I am 30, no kids, no baggage, decent looking and good job. In other words, im in a good spot, but my family thinks that I should be desperately trying to find another future wife. Just ignore it the best you can.

Stuff like family/background pressures makes me overvalue women that I don't even like a whole lot. I'll give them another shot even though I'm not really feeling them just because I feel like I "should". Of course, they never go anywhere, so I'm probably just wasting time.

true but I can kinda relate to the OP, I would rather have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, I finally want to get that first girlfriend, want to end the single streak, i'm willing to put up with all of the drama involved just to get the experience, and experience benefits guys more than girls, it would improve my game a lot, and plus I would, and so would the OP, be getting laid at least, Dan Bacon of the Modern Man sums it up perfectly here starting at 00:16 to 1:17, he says that no matter how many hobbies you got, how successful you are in your job, career, study, or how many friends you got, your relationship with your family, that primal urge for wanting sex or opposite-sex companionship just does not go away, it's in the video titled "5 reasons why you are not getting laid":

1. Bump it up to seven days a week for a month if your lifestyle can handle it. If not, make it happen. Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays can be difficult to find a venue, but they're out there, and those nights are the ones that only motivated girls go out to. Venue doesn't have to be a bar/club; coffee shops, art galleries, gay clubs, university functions, etc. are all good. I checked your geographic location through my Glorious Mod Powers and determined you shouldn't have a problem if you go to that downtown area that's less than 15 miles away.

2. 3 hours, I assume for the club? Do you stay until closing time and a bit after? That's when the magic happens; DO NOT LEAVE BEFORE OR AT CLOSING. The parking lot can yield some impressive results.

3. You're progressively desensitizing yourself to social situations. Excellent. Next expand to random people next to you. Old lady at the crosswalk? Ask her how her day is going. Waiting in line? Point out something funny to the guy next to you. Walking next to a girl (regardless of beauty) at school? Comment on the crap weather. It is IMPERATIVE that you do this, because if you spend your day all reclusive and in your head, don't expect to be Mr. Social Man and strike up a conversation with the HB10 at a loud bar.

4. Start leading your social circle, or get a new one. Honestly go out alone and create a new social circle from scratch. Going out alone can be a big deal at first, but I've been doing it for YEARS and it makes logistics so much easier.

5. That's a pretty solid list of venues. Try adding art galleries and local bands as well; there's often very pretty girls that go there, and the venues are also fun.

6. Gotcha. Consider studying diet and exercise if you want to be able to afford a full time job and going out. I cut out meat and processed foods out of my diet, and now I'm sleeping for 5 hours a day and having more energy than before. I realized eating meat requires an extra 2-3 hours of sleep for me, which is not worth it, especially since all the crap in the meat in the country is very bad for you.

7. Not bad, considering it's an interest of yours. Just don't use that as a rationalization to stay inside for too long.

Honestly it sounds like you're on the right track. Just trust in the process. PM me with Skype details if you want me to give you a quick consultation; I can tell a lot about a person based on your speech patterns and mannerisms. Everything I mentioned are suggestions, but I recommend you try them for a month and see if they work for you.

The social circle is the ket here, I think. I have AFC friends that I talk to and eat dinner with, etc., but I have some more alpha friends that I actually go out with. The benefits is that they draw people towards them; the drawbacks is that they tend to dominate since they are the leaders of the group. I kind of ended up tagging along this group to get the same access they did.

Going out alone would actually probably be best. How do I start building a circle from scratch for that?

I also like art galleries and museums and stuff....do you do that alone also and strike up convos?

You will always get blamed by idiots for not being good with women. Just like how brad Pitt is rewarded every day for something that he got from luck. Ignore the idiots.

I've thought about using that site, is Meet-Up.Com a great site to you use if you are a recluse, introvert, don't go out enough due to not having many friends?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
