"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I think i was 23 years old and I was on a date with this very cute girl I knew from around the horse track. She was eating it all up. she was all over me. she kissed me on the cheek a few times. we got to talking about sex and ic an tell she was priming me up to **** that night. all is good in the world of backbreaker at this point. things are going to plan

So we get to talking about horses and what not,s he's a horse girl so she has her opinions and I have my opinions and i mean i'm damn near home free on this date and we get to talking about our fav horses or what not and she says that smarty jones was like the best race horse ever and that she wishes that he wouldn't have gotten hurt beucase he would have "easily" won the breeders cup classic that year which is like the biggest race in horse racing.

NOw it just so happens, that MY fav horse of all time, ghostzapper, DID win the breeders cup classic THAT YEAR. and the better part of me was like backbreaker STFU lol. before you blow this. but i couldn't let that slide. no sane horse racing fan thinks that smarty jones can stay within 10 lengths of ghostzapper on his A game. and i told her that. and even then, i could have brushed it off but i wouldn't let well enough alone whe i tried to get her to explain her point of view and she couldn't.

but you know what. i ended up dropping her off at home and backbreaker didn't get any. but dammit i "won" the argument. Today i would rather let her be right and get a mind numbing blow job than me having to be right and jacking off

Just let them be right. Don't be so stubborn that you let people stand in the way of you getting what you want just beucaes you want to stand on principle. there is a saying always stand on principle even if you are standing alone.

more times than not you will be standing alone lol.

women are going to say some stupid ****. my wife says some things that even today I'm like "really babe"? but you know, okay. if it's affecting a principle that I hold, that's one thing. If I just think she's wrong for wrongs sake, **** that let her be right in her mind. it's not worth the energy.

It took me a while to learn that people are going to have opinions that aren't yours and you have to be tolerant of that if you want to get ahead. People are the key to you getting what oyu want and you cant' piss them all off by telling them they are all full of ****.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I can, and do, all the time. :) I arranged my life so that they can't do a thing to me, and if they dared to try, they'd regret it. I won't hesitate to poke all 4 of your tires, burn your house, take a ball bat or a gun to you, if need be. That's they way I've always been, and most people can recognize that about me, on sight, too.

Great tip, as always backbreaker.

You gotta know when to expend energy on something that's worth arguing about and when not to. And I know I've been guilty of this too, fighting worthless causes and wasting energy on things that either (a) don't matter or (b) can't be changed. I've done it in my personal life, dating life, career, heck even on this forum.

I think one of the best things a DJ can ever do - and BB this is one of your earliest suggestions to me so you may not remember it - is to lose his ego, just learn how to let things go, not let these things bother him, and for him to develop a don't-give-a-fvck attitude. Ask yourself, what do you have to prove? Who do you have to prove it to? What will proving anything really do or solve?

Deep, I use to be the type that got mad when I got flaked on, rejected, or got no return calls/text, use to ask myself how could I get revenge. That is wasted energy. I learn to just let things go and not let it get to me, because with time if you use it right can work for your benefit. Life is short and the good thing about it being short is if you utilize it right you can get better and get closer to your goal.

my ex, (many years ago, this was) was so fos, that she THOUGHT that I was driving 3 miles into town, one way, every day, because she was 'quitting" smoking. thus, she did not want to buy a carton of smokes. What I actually DID of course, was go for a 15 minute walk, and retrieve a pack from the carton that I had stashed in my van. :)
