Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

She tried to get back with me and I entertained the idea since the breakup was mainly my fault but I couldn't muster the idea of her having been banged by another dude, even if she "didn't enjoy it". At the end of the day she still did it. She's young so maybe she'll be more level headed with the next guy...or just not have the naivety to tell him and expect him to meekly accept it
It all depends on your tolerance level to be honest. If you can accept that she's probably hooked up with other dudes then go for it.

That was about 2 weeks after I dumped her.
Fvck buddy situation will only work if you're truly over her or actively seeking a long term replacement which probably isn't going to happen in a month.
Even then it has a time limit - no girl will accept fvck buddy status for long.
Or you could just forsake all morals and tell her you want to be exclusive while banging other chicks on the side until you find someone else.
If your girl screwed you over in some way then I would opt for the last point.
When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.
Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.
Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.
The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Unfortunately though, as the love sick puppy that I was, I called her three days letter and tried to "talk" it out, and get back together with her. Her response: let's take it slow.
We actually did have a pseudo bf/gf relationship after that, but not surprisingly I was more into it than she was. And I believe she used the fact that we weren't officially together as a means to explore other options, and eventually just ended up leaving me.
Me breaking up with due to her bad behavior![]()
Me breaking down and calling her three days later
If you're going to do it, do it - be a man. If she comes back to you, that's one thing, but if you break it off because of her behavior, you cannot go back.
If you break up with her, then why are you trying to go back. You broke up with her...Trouble is, when you dump a chick you liked... you start to question your decision

The problem is do you want to, and are the problems that led you to dump her still there in some capacity?
I've seen a few friends do it (like dump a girl and get back within a week sort of deal) and they've had long ongoing relationships.
Well the groveling part definitely has to stop whether you do stay with her or not. If you know you are in the right, then you are in the right. You say you handled the situation quite badly this time too, what did she do and what did you do that were bad?soulforge said:Yeh there is problems... she can be quite rude and ****y sometimes... i had to call her out on her behaviour, but she starts playing the victim and stops all communication with me..
She sabotages the relationship.. i,m not perfect, we both handled the situation quite bad this time round...
But she makes zero effort to resolve things... victim mode kicks in... so i either grovel like a dog to make up with her... or the relationship is finished..
These are my choices!! Sound like a healthy long term relationship to you???
Either she does not care about the relationship... or she is too proud and stubborn to reach out and fix things..
Or she wants to gain the power in the relationship...
Any hope here at all??? I sense none, other than to dump her ass

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.
Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.
Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.
Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
