Escalation from Social Media to Real Life

In today's day and age it's very common to communicate with someone via social media who you are yet to meet in real life. How would you suggest arranging face-to-face contact without it appearing to be a date or a stranger meet up?

I usually operate via social circles but I'm talking to a few girls on Snapchat, do you invite them to something you've already got going with your friends or something?

Invite them to parties that are happening in advance, to dog/catsit (if you have a pet and are going out for several hours) or to help you with a project. Say you're making a YouTube video or something.

If you don't phrase it as a date you're going to stand out from 99% of guys out there while still getting to hang out with a cute girl.

I dated a girl I met on FB. I would always try to make her laugh in the posts when I could. Waited until we got into a really funny one and messaged her something like "hey you're a trip, I would love to hang out with you sometime I think we would have a blast." (let her know i qualified her first) first meetup I invited her to a group hangout with my friends to keep things light (she brought friends too) after that solo.
