You've heard the phrase all of the good ones are taken? There is some truth to that. Especially in suburbs or communities not connected to the major metro areas. Just about all of the hot women are married by 25 in these areas. Many of the hottest girls are already dating men over 20 when they are still in their teens. These girls are pulled out of the market very quickly.
So what does that leave? Almost all of the women remaining are either a) fat, b) old, c) ugly, d) single moms, e) disabled, or have some other 'strike' against them. Obviously, many of these women have multiple strikes against them.
MOST of my male friends who are 25+ are dating overweight women. Or a woman with at least one 'strike' against them. I would say it's around 80% or higher. Even if the gal doesn't start out fat, she often becomes fat during the time she is dating one of my friends. It's certainly not unusual for a woman to get married, have several kids, then gain a lot of weight in her 30's and 40's. I don't see how her husband would be happy in such situations, but staying with her is probably preferable to losing everything he's ever worked for: his house, his kids, and half of his past, present and future income.
My last two girlfriends were awesome and I never went for 'the hottest girl' mainly because I attended elite universities which had more nerdy, cute girls than daisy duke blondes. But these girls had normal, fit bodies. Now that I'm no longer in school (aside from maybe a random night class for fun), I can see why my friends are dating fatties. These are the girls who turn up in our social circles.
I think the pool of hot girls is large enough in large metro areas to make dating viable through your 20's and even after, but it's frightening how bad it is in other areas.
When did American women become so fvcking fat? This is really frightening. I think the only solution is to live in a large city if you are single.
