OK, for every 20 or so workouts that leave me feeling on top of the world and unbeatable, there is maybe one that is just a ****ing utter epic failure...ie, this morning. There is nothing like being unable to put up the bar up on a bench press to make your testicles shrivel up and totally kill your concentration.

And I have to wait a full damn week to make it right again. I'm so tempted to just to do it again tomorrow but that is my ego talking. Failure sucks.

Every single person who trains will have an off day every now and again. I remember when I was younger if I didn't increase the weight on every single exercise, every single day that I trained, I thought that I had a sh!t session. But you can't think like this, even if you only increase weight on one of your 5 exercises you have made progress. With weight training it is a long journey of pain, suffering, sweat & hard work. Just keep your head in the game and never get discouraged. And always give it 110%, always.

Yeah man, thanks for the response. That was my bloggish vent yesterday at a really ****ty work out. I also did hit a small PR of 295 on my deadlift (my short term goal being 300). It wasn't a complete loss, but human nature is what it is...sometimes you focus on the negative at the expense of the positive. My perspective is much better today

Thing is I've been benching 200 comfortably for about a month and I thought 205 should be a cinch, but something didn't click...I'm convinced my failed attempt was easily about 95% mental.
