Envy framed as a "joke"

Its like the more you improve your situation, the more men are envious of you. Overt envy is ok. Its the covert envy that annoys me. The "joke" is the perfect outlet of envy because it allows for deniability.

Ive noticed that there is a small percentage of men in any social circle that use jokes at people as a way to mask a feeling of inferiority. These guys tend to be out of shape, and kinda lame. They are generally not good with women. I feel like they use the guise of a "joke" to mask animosity or envy against you. In their more candid/ drunk moments they reveal secret admiration for you.

I don't have this problem with most guys or most friends. Their is usually mutual respect and admiration. Most truly cool guys ive noticed dont direct their jokes at people. I feel like that is a sign of weakness. Its like when a comedian runs outa material and focuses on the audience.

The thing is when you call them out on it and or challenge them to a fight, they always ran under the cover of "its just a joke calm down". So the cycle continues becuz every time you try to nip it in the bud it turns into you being a bully.

There is nothing wrong about good hearted jabs between an old friends that really care about each other. Im talking about the gut feeling you get when a guy that claims is cool with you says a couple too many "jokes" that have u wondering.

Ive noticed the deeper i get into self improvement/ sosuave DJ stuff the better my life becomes. Especially physically, and emotionally. Ive noticed that some people instead of trying to emulate ur success, hold animosity against you. I thought jealousy was a female trait?

I used to have a friend who would pull pranks on me at random. He would get a friend to call me up and threaten to beat the 5hit out of me for fvcking my gf, he'd get his family to send me nasty messages, and involved my ex-wife in a couple of his pranks which caused strain in our relationship. All that 5hit was completely unnecessary. I moved, got an unlisted number, and did whatever was necessary to eliminate him from my life. He more-or-less stalked me, as he had to get his last words and a couple more pranks in before he was completely gone.

My life has been better ever since. I have no use for d1ckwads in my life.

You have to LOL at their rustled jimmies and ask them "you mad bro, you jelly?" then walk away smiling because haters gonna hate.

In english, that means as long as you understand the dynamic you can avoid letting it affect you. I notice every time I start to come up I start getting sh1t from my roommate and a few other friends who think I should stay in my box. I had to call my roommate out in public one evening when he was trying to tell some embarrassing story about me in front of a girl I was dating. I was like "dude, that's funny btw where's your girl tonight?" Crickets, as he's never had one. Put those little bytches in their place.
