Enterprise final episode

The show has been living on borrowed time for at least two seasons. Though the episode most definitely brought closure to Archer and crew's adventures, it seemed to be ruined by the inclusion of Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis reprising their Next Gen roles. Seemed to me they were there just to be in there and they got way too much screen time for what this story was supposed to be.
Since this is most likely to be the last "new" anything of Trek for a long time, I would think that they would have done a little more for Enterprise's final episode.
All in all, it drives home the idea that Star Trek which has been producing new eps since 1987 needs a long rest.

Yup... Babylon 5 wiped the floor with every iteration of Star Trek, except the Original Series, and some of Next Generation.

Comparing Star Trek to Babylon 5 is sort of like comparing Blade Runner to Star Wars. Other than being SF, what do they have in common?

I used to like Next Generation, but never watched any of the other shows, but I came across the last ep. on Sat. afternoon. I watched the 2nd half of it, and it was okay, but I did like that voiceover at the end with the three captains -- very worthwhile 1/2 hour.

Good point, I just felt that B5 was just far higher in the overall qualities of character development, dialogue and plot continuity.

Your'e absolutely right about B5. But truth be told, I've always forgiven deficiencies in character development in SF, as long as there was a good science fiction premise. I feel that the stories should be about what these characters do and what they encounter as opposed to just who they are. Star Trek, IMO weakened when they put the science fiction (exploring strange new worlds) part in the background and just focused on character drama and steamy soap opera. B5 was great for what it was even if it was just conventional character drama and political intrigue against a "sci-fi" backdrop. Nothing against these elements, when used in moderation, I just hope to see a return to putting the science back in science fiction.
