DA KID, it is always usefull to have references, but probably unnessasary.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

DA KID: I was surprised that most of the applications I've been getting don't have a spot for references. But I'd say if they have a place for them, definitely provide them. Just make sure the people you put actually like you or they may work against you haha.

wavejams007: I agree. I would have no problem working for a fast food restaurant. However, I'd rather work at a grocery store so I'm applying at all of them first. If those don't work out then my next round will be the fast food chains. Gotta get my foot in the door somehow.

I agree with you too. Grocery stores, at least last summer when I was in the states, paid my best friend better than fast food restaurants. PLus there is a little more , how should I say it, prestige in saying I work at a grocery store, if it is a nice one, then Taco Bell. Keep looking, and you'll find what you seek.;)

How the search eggnawg. I got an interview with circuit city on friday.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Da Kid, good luck with your interview Friday. As for me, the search is OVER! Yesterday I got a call from Fred Meyer in which I scheduled an interview for today (Wednesday) at 3:30. So I go up to the customer service desk at 3:25 and there's about 5 poeple in line. Two minutes later there's still a couple people ahead of me so I'm like screw this I don't have time to wait. I wait until the customer service lady is about to go on the phone and I'm like "Excuse me, I have an interview at 3:30 with Shannon." She calls her and they're running a bit late but an worker comes and tells me to go upstairs and knock on her door. So I go up the stairs and Shannon (the interviewer) greets me and the top and shakes my hand. I wasn't mentally prepared to shake hands right there as she surprised me as I came around the corner, so as soon as I let go I'm thinking dammit that handshake was wimpy as hell. Anyway then we made smalltalk on the way to the office. We go in and there's 2 other guys on computers in there, obviously it's a joint office, looks like its for 5 people. I was a little worried when I saw that there were other people in there too but one of them left almost immediately and I got over it soon. She told me to take a seat and then she went through the job description and requirements, etc, with me asking the occasional question and frequently showing my comprehension with "ok", "alright", laughing when she tried for a joke, etc. I had prepared for a few questions such as "Tell me about yourself" and "Why do you want this job?" but luckily she asked me a grand total of ZERO questions. I was very surprised but after sitting there for 10 minutes she says that she's going to offer me the job. Of course I'm thinking HELL FVCKIN YES!! but I didn't want to display too much emotion. So then I took a drug test, I had to rub a swab in between my gum and cheek and then leave it there for 3 minutes. Easy stuff and I'm no stoner so that's a definite pass. It tasted pretty bad though and the interviewer and the other guy in the office are joking about the taste as I'm sitting there waiting for the 3 minutes to be up. She said one girl threw up when she tasted it, but honestly it wasn't that bad. Then I finished the test, asked for a business card, thanked her and left. And so concludes my job search.

That makes 3 turned in applications, 1 interview and 1 job. I'd say those are some pretty decent statistics right there. Ah I to mention a couple things. To the interview I wore a black collared shirt (all buttons buttoned and tucken in this time), the same AE khakis as before and the same black shoes. My job title is Parcel Clerk and it is mainly picking up shopping carts in the parking lot and taking customers' groceries to their cars. It also includes several other minor things when needed such as cleaning spills, boxing bags, etc. I'm getting minimum wage, which ain't too shabby in Washington, $7.35/hr I believe and most of my time on the job will be outside which kicks ass in the summer but sucks balls in the rain. The drug test results come back tomorrow and I get called in on Friday to sign the hiring papers. Next Tuesday I have a four hour orientation that starts at 3. So my search is done but feel free to post any questions here or about your own job searches. I'll update in a week or so once I work for the first time. Good luck to you all.

congratulations eggnawgkid! glad you finally got the job! You deserve it since you worked for it and overcame shyness in the process. Jobs such as Fred Meyers are easy and you get a lot of flexibility when it comes to changing schedules and stuff like that, they help out students. So do well since you are lucky to have a job there it is an optimal job for a high schooler that is starting out in work.

As for me..well I have had 3 job interviews and NOTHING! I don't know what in the world im doing wrong. This has me very upset I won't be buying anything from any of the stores I have been rejected in! It feels bad because im a hard worker, good person, im going to college so I have some education, but I bet some scumbag got the job! oh well I have to remain humble and just pray for the best as always. I have very little money left because of being out of a job for a few months so I need a job soon. Im going to apply to like 5 stores online this weekend and see what happens next.
