Yes, I've also found after all these years that discretion is the most determining factor for you getting laid. At least, it is in the country where I live.
To what Bvbidd said, I'd elaborate a bit more into what gets you laid in real life, in 5 easy steps (was gonna put it on tips section but I liked this thread):
A. Dress & look great (bullsh!t whoever says looks don't matter) - Gym, diet, posture, masculinity expression, clean, good clothing, etc.
B. Have actually the drive to have sex (not just "pick up" for ego).
C. Talk with the girl like with other human being. (just being social, not ****ty mind / hypnotic seduction tricks). If you already know her it is already done. If she's someone you want to talk to, just approach her with a simple "hi" or situational comment around the place. Or ****, just whatever you want, but don't make it complicated.
D. Isolate. Your home, her home. Your hotel room, her hotel room. etc. etc. etc. Just YOU and HER. This is the MOST important step.
E. Being alone, get physical.keep talking and GRAB her hand. Do something that gets you in the 'intimate interaction' (hair touch, massage, cudling, etc.) and then kiss. The rest is obvious.
Easy easy logical way to get laid, by just having basic social skills and sexual drive like every human being there. There's no real need to analyze more **** unless you are very socially inept. In that case, de-shyness and/or professional help are for you.
The MOST important factor, as bvbidd explained & I posted above, is, I repeat: being alone & making her feel sure you no one else will know. NO ONE ELSE. You will be amazed about what you can get with just shut the **** up and not telling anyone. If you are the charlatan / bragger type, just forget about getting laid much.
