Hi

I earn a decent amount of money, at the current rate that I'm saving I'll have 700.000 euros in 20 years.

To be extremely arrogant, this is not enough for me. My goal is to retire as soon as possible in a very nice home somewhere in the south of Europe. We all know the prices for a very nice home is like 1/4th of what I will have. I have the possibility to grow a bit in my current company, but I guess the cap will be 1.000.000 in 20 years. Still not enough.

There is no opportunity for me to quit this job, as it's a special kind of job and I will never make this kind of money somewhere else. So I'm looking for something that I can do besides that, that would make a decent amount of money as well.

I know this is asking for some kind of holy grail, but I would like to hear some ideas or advice on what I can do.

Learn to trade financial markets. Start with the smallest size lot of shares/contracts they will let you trade. Commit to losing money for a period of years, maybe 5-10. I'm talking about trading, not investing. They are opposite strategies.

I don't have time to trade, as it's a job that you can't really do on the side (requires too much attention on a daily basis). I do long term investing and have started by studying geo politics. Then I started studying economics, politics, finance, then I started studying countries such as China, Japan, UK, and USA. I'm starting to incorporate history and trends into my research and this factors all into investments I make. People think you're crazy at first when you can see future trends unfolding and think you're wearing a tinfoil hat, but when you make 200,300, or 500% based off that research, they shut up. People think you can start trading by studying technical analysis and fundamental analysis, but with such manipulation in the markets, money printing (stimulus packages/QE), negative and zero interest rates, US central bank flip flopping on a weekly basis whether or not it's going to raise interest rates to maintain confidence in our system, it's imo best not to trade unless you understand all this stuff and have the time to respond to these things as they happen.

You can also try blogging about something you're passionate about or be an expert in the field on your job so that people who search for topics about your passion or job may come across your blog. After a few months of writing, you can sell ads on your blog site for side income.

I've always heard to work your day job to pay the bills, and make your side job your hobby. Hard for me to do at present because my day job requires some longer hours and is fairly stressful, but still a good plan.

Problem is, I don't know the hobby I could use.
