I'm posting like a demon here lately.
I've been thinking about positives and negatives in my life. I have to say thath one thing that really bothers me is how dull my friends are. There's so much I want to do, spontaneously a lot of the time. But I'm 36 and my buddies (not that I have tonnes) either have families or want to hang out with their tedious girlfriends 24/7.
I have to say, I don't get it. I know these girls and their chat is awful. They're not even that good looking. Why is it that guys would rather spend ALL their time with whichever girl they're with, often at home, rather than, say, just deciding to take a flight down to Miami and have some fun times.
Or maybe I'm just immature and at odds with what I'm supposed to be doing at this age. I don't feel that different to 21, the main difference is I have more cash and am far more confident so could be doing a lot more stuff now than I could then.
There's a real disconnect between what I want to be doing with my life and what society/people in my life expect from me. That doesn't bother me, I'm going to do what I want anyway. I'd just like one or two bros to do it with!
But I really feel that 36 is too late to make friends. This, of course, is my fault a lot. I should have cultivated the kind of friendships I wanted when I was younger.
Does anybody else find themselves in this situation? Settling down and having a family doesn't interest me one bit, but that's what everybody else is doing and no way is some dude with a young kid just going to agree to come and hit up Vegas for a few days. This sucks.
