Joker is a terrible ripoff of Taxi Driver.

I beg to differ, although certainly the main character in both were MentalCels. Joker showed an incredible character arc from a nice but a bit kooky MentalCel to a killer, due to all the torment heaped upon him in life. Taxi Driver showed a guy that could not relate to women in a normal way - e.g., the way that he took the beautifully glamorous Cybill Shepherd on a first date to a porno movie, LOL.

Yes, as amazing as it sounds, Phoenix did the all-time best acting job that did not require wearing a hoop dress. Very powerful movie.
