Double Dates?!

My best friend and his girlfriend and me and my girlfriend were thinking about going on a double date next weekend. What do you guys think about double dates? I don't think I've ever read anything about them on here. Any pros/cons/stories/whatever would be great!

Double dates are the ****. You generate alot more conversation, laughter, and stuff from that. Otherwise its up to you and your girl to have fun. It also takes the pressure of the girl if she knows the other one. Go for it man!

Uh oh! This double date was going to be my first real date with this girl(I've been to her house a few times). Is that really such a bad thing?

Well, not really. Actually, it's more of a bad thing that you're worried about it

As a general guideline, I don't do first dates as double dates, but I had a double-dinner-date with my best mate, et al., and it was gerat. Like Stratocaster said, you can generate a lot more conversation, and especially with someone like your best friend. My friend and I had our girls rolling with just stories that he and I had that they hadn't heard.

Ah, it was beautiful thing.

Don't worry too much about this ONE double-date sinking you for the rest of eternity, though. It's really not that big a deal so long as you don't make it a habit to only go out with her when other couples are around (because that REALLY makes you look like a wuss, and "alone time" is almost impossible with another couple around ).

Anyway, now that I've totally circumvented your question, I'll just answer you with a single words as to whether or not this first date being a double date is such a bad thing: No.
