"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Dorm Room Choice? (Urgent) Updated: Tips for College?

This is an urgent post. I am going off to college in the fall, and I have already been accepted, so I am sending in my dorm room application early so I get a good room. There are some questions on the app, and I want some answers from the point of view of fellow Don Juans.

1. Should I mark that I am a morning person or a night person? (I can only pick one) I am both, in that I get up early and talk a shower, but also usually stay up until 12-1 in the morning.

2. app says "In a new situation do you A: sit back and get comfortable before socializing or do you B: Jump right in and socialize" I am sit back kind of person, but because I want to become a great DJ I am thinking about marking "I jump right in and socialize." Is this a good idea?

3. I don't drink, so I will probably put that I want a room with someone who also doesn't drink, but will this leave me out of the social loop?

Thanks for answering my questions, and if anyone has any other suggestions for filling out the college forms, and making the freshman year of college a great one that will further my goal of becoming a Don Juan, please post.

This might make me seem like I'm needy and post my every problem on this site, but I want to pick the right choices that will further my goal of becoming a Don Juan.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Also, does anyone know of any sites that give the dirt on colleges and college life? I'm tired of all the crap about college written by adults, I want stuff that gives college advice from a college student's point of view.

First of all, 12-1 is not late--put morning.
Secondly, if you want to jump right in and socialize, put that one--that will give you a chance to meet lots of new people. However, if you would rather sit back, observe, and then socialize, put that one. I don't recommend sitting back either, I use to be the 'observer' and I like myself much better now that I am able to socialize with anyone at anytime.
You should NOT change your methods about drinking unless you want to. If you don't mind if the other person drinks, then don't worry about it. But if it will bother your studies, be honest.

THis is a message board where you can ask college students just about anything. Keep in mind, you will get some smarta$$ answers, but you should get the jist of it.

No, I don't want to drink, but in my experience the drinkers are the more social ones, the party crowd.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

1. You have to make the decision there, but Iwould go wit hnight person because more socializing goes on at night.
2. Either way you are going to make friends eventually, but why not be bold and jump into socializing?
3.I think it is best that if you don't drink, don't room with someon that does, cuz if you do, then you will be cleaning up their vomit and all, and dealing with the drunk roommate. Common sense.

Iwill have to deal with that shortly, as i am applying for college, and will have to apply for the dorm as well.

you know urself best and put what u'll be most comfortable in.

1) I'd say a night person, (everyone has to wake up early for classes, that doesn't necessarily make u a morning person). That's only if u don't mind sometimes having to deal with loud partying and other noises late at night.

2) Who cares what u are. What do u wanna be? If u say u want to socialize put a social person. If u get stuck in like a quiet place u might regret it later.

3) I don't see how them drinking affects u, but if u don't want a drinker don't put it. Them drinking doesn't necessarily mean they are social. And them not drinking doesn't necessarily mean they aren't social.

Should I put on my app all nerdy things, so I can get a roommate thats a nerd that just sits in the room and doesn't party, so I can basically have the room on my terms? I figure if I do it like this there will only be people in the room when I want them there, so I can study when I want, and go out when I want. I also probably won't have to worry about my sh!t getting stolen or broken by to many people in the room.

So does anyone have any answers? I'm going to be sending in my room app soon.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

U have to decide man. I personally wouldn't go with this because assuming there are going to be days where your friends will be busy on projects, work and all, if you don't connect with your roommate, your life will be monotanous and boring at thos e moments. Also, nerdy type people can sometimes hold themsleves as better than those that aren't as smart as them, so you might be dealing with a superiority complex. You decide.

I have lived on three college campuses.

You want to be a night person who drinks (and smokes if they ask). You do *not* want a dorky roommate. He will always be in the room because he has no life, he'll go to bed early, he won't be cool about bringing girls over and he will scare away the ones you do bring home, and he won't introduce you to new social circles. I have lived with both dorks and party animals. The party animal is fun; the dork is a nightmare. You can always go someplace else to study.

Other advice: go to class and care about your gpa. You can't get into grad school with bad grades. And binge drinking really does kill people.

Well...here's my thoughts:

1) If you can manage to get up in the morning and feel as if you can run a marathon, by all means put down morning person! I personally feel sort of sloppy in the morning, depending on how much sleep I get the night before...where as in the night (assuming its between 6~11) I feel great...but around 12AM and up, I feel like crap.

2) I HIGHLY suggest choosing situation B...because..well. It sort of seems like common sense! You get the opportunities to make a bunch of friends, meet cool guys, meet and even hook up with cool girls, and your social life wont be a bore because option B will keep you on your toes.

3) Likewise, I dont drink either, so I would put request a non-drinking person. Just as one of the DJ's mentioned...I wouldnt want to clean up after a drunkard's mess, especially since we'd live in the same room. Not worth the pain/risk. You can still stay in the social loop even without a drinker as a roomie. Just avoid having a totally completely ultimately (redundant, just to emphasize) geeky person, since he'd be crammed in there all 4 years on the computer, but he can help you with ur studies? =D

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I love these tips, Bible Belt! They make me realize that the cons outweigh the pros if I would get a dorky roommate.

Improve your pick-up game as quickly as possible and number close, number close, number close...

My first few years in college I was a gut-less sissy who didn't ask anyone out, drank like a maniac and had one night stands only. Since then, I've dropped the drinking and improved my pick-up skills by a 10 fold. If I did this sooner my college days would have been alot better.

UPDATE:

one of the questions on the form:

"I hope that my room will be...(Please pick one)

- A quiet place to study
- For social purposes

What one should I pick? I want it to be a quiet place to study, but I am afraid of being left out of the social loop, so to speak.

What can I do to prevent this?

Seriously use your brain for a sec here.

If you want to end up with a decent roommate and be social, you pick all the social options. If you want to end up with an Asian roommate that stays in the room 24/7, you go for the study options.

Besides, if you want to study you can always hit the library.

This is not brainsurgery.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.
