What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

because i'll take 1 year (2 if i'm lucky)of dorm experience, then after that they will kick me out to find an apartment

Also, the meal plans, as far as I can tell, only seem to really cater to what most people want, and that's not really healthy food. Plus, having an apartment means you can decide whatever food you want, since the supermarket has a much larger selection of stuff. There are numerous other advantages, but you asked about food so that's all I'm going to mention right now. You also don't have to essentially eat out everyday, you go only when you want. Even if you wanted to use the school cafeteria, you still can and just use cash or a credit card. You just wouldn't have the pressure of burning up the meal plan (if you don't you waste money).
But, the decision is ultimately yours. I just hope for your sake you still think you made the right decision after the first year. At least you don't have to stay the second year.

college food isn't as bad as it sounds. it can taste pretty decent at times too! just make sure you don't eat junk food. stay with healthy stuff like lots of fruits and water and milk!
Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

there are several advantages to dorm living, at least a year or two -- developing friendships that last a lifetime, learning to compromise, etc. the people I know who never lived in a dorm (or frat house, or equivalent) are generally less well-adjusted socially. you've got the rest of your life to live alone or with one other person & eat whatever you want.Abbott said:Oh Okay...if you think it's worth it.
