It really amazes me how many guys out there are petrified of women. I know some Indian guys in the Bay Area who can code like Mark Zuckerberg but freeze up when we go to clubs. The amount of power that women have over them is startling.
I think the reason we have so many guys frustrated is because of a "perfect storm" - women gaining confidence through social media like Instagram, and men losing confidence because the women get so many "likes" and attention and the men getting nothing.
What I've seen is that men are most afraid of the hot women who are b!tches. But the only reason a woman would put her b!tch shield up is because she's insecure. I approached a HB 8 at the mall the other day and she freaked out. It's not actually her fault - women have been glorified by the media and men have been portrayed as sex abusers, etc which puts women on guard. So on balance, I would say that men are valued at an all time low and women are valued at an all time high. It was not like this 50 years ago, or even 20 years ago. You can thank the Internet for that.
Lately, I havent given two sh!ts about women. I'm engrossed in my work and loving it more than I ever have. I went through hell in my 20's but I'm finally at a place where I'm at peace with myself and I think I'm a pretty desirable person. I'm trying to work out more, and think more positively. I'm also trying to dedicate less time to "gaming" women and more time to making myself happy. I think one of the worst things is for unhappy guys to come on this site seeking help. Unhappiness builds on itself and SS can actually compound it if you don't already have certain things in place.
What has also worked for me is doing things that I'm successful at. I'm good at intellectual things, so I focus on that and increase my status through that. I got invited to some parties in SF in which the crowd was mostly startup people, but I stopped going because my value there is low as I'm not a startup guy.
Overall, guys need to forget about the notion that women will make you happy. Like I said before, I lost 12 good years of my life pursuing women. I'd be way further ahead if I didn't do that, and I wouldn't have ended up depressed for so long. Everyone has great qualities inside themselves that are waiting to be noticed. Go try something new - go to Spain, try writing an article for a journal, or go wakeboarding. I've done two of these three things and can't wait to do the third! There's too many possibilities out there to be sitting around moping about how a girl flaked on you. If you're not good at women, fine. There IS something you're good at - so focus 100% on that.
