i just finish reading DYD. I now understand ****y and funny equals to wet panties. However, when i start talking and taking action today, i choked BIG TIME. I just had a hard time bringing some stuff up to talk. (i think im suffer of talking phobia) First, i went to that attractive girl in the library, and use one of david's line, "it seems you're not very attractive because you're here all by yourself, so i was wonder if i could joined you?" She i looked downward, and said softly, "ok". Thats where i got stuck. So i just walked away. i don't know what else to say during that time. So should i write down some scripts first, before getting women again? I was pretty embarass today.

DJs, please give a rookie some few pointers so i dont end up like that next time.

Thanx a million

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

to be ****y and funny you've got to have a sense of comedic timing. point blank.

growing up..i was always a jokester, prankster, class clown..so early on i had a knack for working a group of people.

if you are a dude that was low key and chill throughout school you are going to have to learn how to be funny.

but...lets take a look at the line you used on this chick.

"it seems you're not very attractive because you're here all by yourself, so i was wonder if i could joined you?"

ok, is this an opener or a monolouge? i mean damn homey this is a freaking mouthful. and coming from a dude who admittedly has a "talking phobia" i would wager it came out more awkward than Barbara Walters in a ******* flick. You feel me?

start with some more basic openers..some if his "quick question" ones are good.

also..im in the process of developing "the best friends" approach. where you go up to any chick and immediatley assume that you are her best friend. but talk to her as if you would talk to your homeys on the block.. "sup, dude you know where i can score some weed" that type of stuff. it's genius level PUAing or DJing. Im the next cat to take this game over. believe me.

Lol doesnt sound like the best line to use on a probably introspective library bookworm nerd girl.

She's just been shattered for life! Some guy comes up and tells her she's not very attractive and that's why no one is sitting with her, and then walks away. Cruel! She'll probably have been traumatised by that, and won't forget it for years to come.

Here's an opener to use on the same women next time you see her. Walk up to her and say only these words:

"I'm sorry for what I said to you the other day. I wanted to talk to you, and it came out wrong. I'm an idiot, and I'm sorry."

That'll brighten her day! And you get to make up for making her feel terrible. AND it's a great opener to get you guys starting to talk. Give it a try, you've got nothing to lose.

Unless you f**k it up. Don't f**k it up. :D

Wow Rookie. That is awful and reminds me of some times I'd prefer to forget but is still a little funny.

You go into a PU and use a canned line you are not comfortable with that is supposed to be funny and then the female takes it sincerely and is still into it so you walk away ... when you get past the pain it is funny.

Congrats on making the approach. Congrats on somehow getting some IL. I don't think you really planned on succeeding and were caught out.

"When you fail to plan you plan to fail"

I seem to recall DYD talks about writing out situations and trying to think of some likely outcomes and prepare for those too. Perhaps a freeze on our part response is needed.

You:*some random approach*

Her: OK

You: *freeze, want to run away* I just realized how late it is, write down your number and we'll do this some other time.

It's not the greatest follow up but an OK canned copout is better then nothing.

At this point I no longer find it painful and reread it and found it really funny.

Some time in the future when you have your stuff together and some women is saying you're a "playa" you might want to tell this story.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I think your body language and the way you said the statement was completly wrong. If I were to use that line I would go up, pull up a chair, sit down and give a smirk. While I have the smirk I would have said "it seems you're not very attractive because you're here all by yourself, so i was wonder if i could joined you?". The smirk lets her know you're joking. Also have a relaxed body language. And if she still doesn't pick it up as a joke and looks down and says "Ok." then you need to address the fact that it was a joke and she shouldn't take it seriously. Don't forget to make fun of it a bit.
