"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

i hit on a girl the other day (cashier) and she said she doesn't give out her number but that she would take mine. so i went ahead and gave it to her. she said she'd call me that night "or something" but didn't. i didn't expect her to. but do you think it's reasonable to expect that she'll call eventually? i know where to find her if she doesn't but i don't know if it's worth pursuing... she seemed interested from what i could tell so i'm not sure if it was a veiled rejection or if she's just playing games.

anyone with similar personal experience to chime in on this?

Dude what do you mean you know where to find her if she doesn't call you? At that point it's over.

Asking a woman to do something does nothing. Women don't work off logic. Women work off feelings. You're going to have to spark some kind of attraction before she even wastes her time.

How about you give her something to laugh about next time you see her? Don't even bother with the phone call question.

"I don't give out my number" is polite for "I'm not interested"

that's my take.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

One thing I've been preaching here is only give your number to a girl under one condition: You see her as a "friend". So she can call you whenever she wants and you can pick up whenever you want. If you want more than that, never give her your number. If she is interested in you, there should be no reason why she can't give you her number. Learn.

Agreed. Also not giving out a number is a sign of insecurity on her part, prehaps stemming from a bad experience in the past, but it still reads as suspicious in my book.

How did you work up to asking said cashier for her number by the way?
"I need a pack a camel lights and uhh your phone number please." Enlighten us.

She's not interested.

Write up a FR of what you said and did, and her reactions. Otherwise, move on. At least try to learn from this experience.

don't bother. Just because a girl is nice or flirty doesn't mean she's into you - for all you know she has a real bf but likes the attention now and then. Other women just have a problem rejecting guys flat out so they'll just take your number. I've met a lot of girls where I get great vibes from, but not all of them will give me their number. That's fine with me - not worth any additional effort.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

alright, it's probably best i tell the story. it was at a drive thru actually. yeah i made a post a while ago asking about this and yeah, i did it.

i see this girl all the time when i go there, she's always working the first window. i thought she liked me because of the way she smiles at me and stuff. anyway, i drive down there on the weekend for the sole purpose of asking her out. i make my order but chicken out at the last minute and drive out. down the road i'm like "**** this, i'm not gonna be a pvssy today!" and i turn right back around and go back and order a vanilla milkshake.

when i get to her window:
her: "ninety-nine cents."
me: "i've got to come clean. i didn't come here for a milkshake."
her: *laughing* "what did you come here for?"
me: "well i was like... that chick at the window was totally cute..."
her: "oh my god!"

she like melted. i don't think she knew how to take it. she turned around and voided my order, pretending to be inconvenienced by that. lol.

her: "what is your name"
me: "i'm yapper. what's yours?"
her: *name* she's looking into my eyes, smiling, i'm getting a really good feel of this.
her: "well i don't give out my number but i will take yours."
me: "you're not gonna spread it around are you?"
her: "noo"
so then i wrote my number down on a piece of paper while she took the order from the car behind me.
her: "i'll call you tonight. or something."

that's it. note, i never even asked for her number, she jumped the gun. and i never told her to call me. why would she lie if she didn't intend to actually do it at the time?

i just can't help but feel there's enough interest here to work with if i give it another go!

She totally played you, dude. She gets hit on so much that she knows exactly what countermeasures to use.

Notice how you didn't ask for the number, but she assumed you were going to and cut you off?

When she said "I don't give out my number, but I will take yours" that was your opportunity to bust her balls with some ****y and funny. The possible comebacks there are endless. That was your opening to separate yourself from the hundreds of other guys who hit on her.

But instead, you FOLLOWED HER INSTRUCTIONS (supplication) and gave her your digits. Bad move, you failed the test and your resume went into the rejected stack with all the others.

Think about it. She was very conceited to assume you were gonna ask for her number. Instead of calling her on this, you went along with HER program.

You have to control the frame. She dominated the frame in this instance.

like said before. she's either an attention *****, or she just has a problem rejecting u outright so she's passive about it. "I'll call you tonight, or something"? that sounds like flat out rejection to me.

plus, she is a cashier, it's her job to be nice. cuz if she's a a$$ she'll get fired.

just move on bro, and never ever EVER give ur number out to chicks. if u dont get the number, than u dont get the girl. like Aaron said, control the frame

She sounds flattered, but yeah, it looks tough to build any rapport at a drive thru.

I guarantee: if you did actually get her #, she would never have answered her phone. And she would not have returned your messages either.

She knows one thing about you: how you look. So of all the guys she could date right now, are you the best-looking? Odds are, no. You've gotta be more than a pretty face, so a 10 minute chat is needed. Lesson learned, eh? Good job getting out and taking charge, though.

If we knew why chicks flaked out we'd all be getting a lot more tail. Maybe she talked to her 1-800-ASTROLOGY reader and learned that you were born under a bad moon or something.

But honestly, the only thing I can think of for her rejecting you is your initial puss-out and subsequent return. I've done stuff like that before (and been politely rejected), and my educated guess is that she thought you were a sissy when you had to come back instead of having the balls the first time (or all the other times she took your order) and that was the easist way to reject you.

Another thing you'll learn (and fast) is not to expect any woman to hold up her word (to call, to come by, whatever). They just don't seem to care about keeping plans up, maybe they get distracted by shiny or brightly colored objects?

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Another line I got from a chick the other night was this. I said, "My name is (first name last name) what's your last name Sara?" Her response, "I don't have one." LOL, I broke out laughing when she said it, and didn't really care that she was rejecting. Stupid girl. But, this girl rejected you man. She thinks of you as a chump, and if you meantion her not calling you, do you REALLY think that is gonna raise her interest? NO, it will lower it from 0% to -0%.

"She doesn't give out her number." If Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp pulled up through the drive thru, she would give more than her number, she would probably sneak out of the restaurant on break and go in the bushes and suck their cvcks. You know it's true.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.
