"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

No one can make you happy for the long term.

If your not happy with yourself and your surroundings, women nor money will make you happy.

create your own life and environment, and the rest will, with hard work and commitment fall into place.

happiness is an internal thing - and no amount of external influence will effect it.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I like this thread. Not because I like the implications of the views. Its a glimmering reality. One which can not be seen with two eyes. But a third...

Ever posted something on a message board or read a news article where comments are enabled? I very often see women respond with "no wonder why you're single" as if it's sooo shameful and we're just pathetic because we don't have a female master. Anymore, she better be damned awesome for me to tie myself down to just one.

Even my mom has done this to me. "No wonder why your relationships never work out," after I said something about dating she disagrees with. No, they worked out just fine the length of time they lasted and they ended when i no longer got what i wanted from them. Who said the ultimate goal is to marry every girl I see more than once and why is it assumed that I am to blame for a relationship failure? Cause i'm the dude and if i'd performed like a circus monkey for the girl properly when and where she said jump i'd still be in that relationship?

Here's one article example I saw on Fark today about British vs American women where if you go to the comments the women roast the author and make their snide remarks of "that's why you're single" as if 'a$$hole' ever precluded a male from getting women.

I think people snap at you because of some personal relationship resentment. I say this because the few times I've had conversations about this with friends who are in truly good relationships they never gave me any snide remarks about my methods or selection criteria. They've always been supportive.

However, with couples who are constantly in a drama filled, relationship rollercoaster seem to see my single-status as a chance to expound about how much better off they are in comparison. They tell me that that I should lower my standards and settle for less. I just bite my tonge and say to myself "Yeah, I see how well settling has worked for the two of you; it's obvious that you deserve each other." Madness...
