"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Do you think this near-harridan is being too picky by rejecting a bald man?

I am a 31-year-old American Jewish woman who has been studying veterinary medicine and working in London for the past several years. I am ready to start a family. I recently ended a casual relationship with a man I desperately loved, but who wasn’t ready to commit. Enter David, a tall, blue-eyed Jewish doctor I would be proud to introduce to my family (the antithesis of the dark, hipster man I still think about). David is sweet and kind and everything I could ask for, on paper. We are a couple of months in and he wants to meet my mom, but I'm scared my family will love him so much I will be pressured into marrying him. Here’s my problem: He's bald. When we have sex it just sometimes feels like I'm banging an infant or grandpa and I get weirded out. I have never imagined being with a bald man for the rest of my life. I'd also like him to work out more than he does—I’m a workout junkie. All superficial things, but isn't passion and attraction an essential ingredient to a happy relationship? How do I improve a man without demoralizing his ego? How do I get past the baldness without resorting to asking him to wear a hat?
My opinion: She should be lucky that her almost overripe eggs can still attract a man to begin with (and a TALL Jewish doctor at that!) I sense a woman who will be complaining in a few years about how there are no "good men".

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

She will marry him and be revolted each time he plows her causing her to book tickets for herself to some other European country every few months or so so that she can find some local dudes.. I'm guessing she will pick somewhere down south -- the guy she is with is settling for way too little (shes over the hill) and is being deceived as I'm sure he'd upgrade to something better if he read what she is thinking ----

She likes him on paper, but they don't have chemistry. This is what happens a lot these days, women NEED to settle down and get commitment from some schlub to afford them the chance to have kids and fulfill their body agenda, and what happens next is the woman divorce the guy and take him to the cleaners. If this woman stays with this guy, that's likely what is going to happen. Marriage --> Kids --> Divorce.

Exactly. I think a lot of divorces are due to women marrying a guy that isn't her physical type.

Regardless, he's a doctor. He could do way better anyway. Plenty of women would love a bald doctor.

Off on another tangent:

We don't know if he lost pretty much all his hair or shaved it clean because of some hair loss. There is this standard one-size-fits-all advice that ALL guys that are balding should shave their head clean. While that is often good advice, some guys look better with some (fairly short) hair, despite the balding. Mr. C l ean doesn't work for every guy.

Until men like this *David bald jew doctor*...start saying fvck these uppity middle class biyaches and start finding hawt strippers...cvm on their faces...rinse and repeat these schmucks will get taken to the cleaners.

men in 2013 have to stop looking for surrogate mommies

and treat women like fvcktoys

Men have to stop being morons and understand when women are using them as PROVIDERS

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

31 and still in vet school? She should have been done at age 25....wonder what/who she was doing for those missing 6 years. Entirely possible she went to school to appear "worthy" of a doctor...so she could retire with her MRS

I don't think a stripper would be particularly interested in dating a "nice guy balding doctor" (unless he was willing to risk his license and supply her with drugs...) Having a high status job ain't what it used to be. Just because the guy is a doctor does not mean that he's got hot b*tches lined up waiting to jump on his c0ck. And that is especially true in places like NYC, where rich guys are a dime a dozen.
