‘A Game Changer’: Drug Brings Weight Loss in Patients With Obesity (Published 2021)

In a clinical trial, participants taking semaglutide lost 15 percent of their body weight, on average.

Nearly 2,000 participants, at 129 centers in 16 countries, injected themselves weekly with semaglutide or a placebo for 68 weeks. Those who got the drug lost close to 15 percent of their body weight, on average, compared with 2.4 percent among those receiving the placebo.

Those results far exceed the amount of weight loss observed in clinical trials of other obesity medications, experts said. The drug is a “game-changer,” said Dr. Robert F. Kushner, an obesity researcher at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, who led the study. “This is the start of a new era of effective treatments for obesity.”

my opinion: Turning America's fat chicks slim would do wonders for the market by fattening up (pun intended) the supply of nubile women. However, I could see the femynists complaining that men would be "forcing" women via "sexual oppression" to take the Rx and stay slender.

If people let themselves go enough to warrant taking these tablets...probably a red flag.They certainly dont seem to care about their appearance in the 1st place! And,genuine health issues aside,are to lazy to correct it and just want to fix it all by popping a pill! Typical society today...again,unless their is genuine medical reason,get off your lardy behind and get the weight off instead of being to idle and wanting everything with no effort!

I hope they ban these pills or there are horrible side effects that keep people from taking them. What do Americans, men and women, have against staying healthy and staying in shape? The US is so f*ucking lazy it's criminal.
