I was reading this and it got me thinking:

My contention follows from the fact that vehicles like Tinder and other online dating apps have made it so that there is such a plethora of choices for women that women are actually holding out for that Superman, and therefore are not interested in men who are less than that (i.e., virtually all men). Whereas just recently women took to these vehicles and submitted to an appreciable portion of men that were alpha males, the current schema is that with this plethora of choices, the minimum level for some man to achieve being Superman is so high that now the earlier band of alpha males are judged to not be alpha enough.
my opinion: In some ways this is good as women don't get on the c0ck carousel, and therefore will not have the problems associated with too much pre-marital slutting. The key is that these women would need to hit the expectations wall at some point before it is too late for this schema to be a net good.
