Do you think Hef helped to turn the mating situation hypergamous?

(I presume that by now everyone has learned of his recent passing at age 91.)

Certainly I approve of a lot of the social change that he advocated. However, there is one part of me that sees that the elevation of the "playboy" as really being the social acceptance of men casually sexing women - and of course with these men being, to some degree, alpha (i.e., the Asperger's guy watching p0rn in his parents' basement is certainly not the type to take advantage of being a playboy), etc.), which has made the mating game more difficult for us, as women being bed by these playboys have taken themselves out of the mating market for normal, beta men - i.e., the destructive effects of hypergamy. I feel like a lot of men that are living True Forced Loneliness would not have been in such a situation before the playboy lifestyle schema gained, to some extent, respectability.

so you mean women go for richer/more educated men than they are and its because of Hef? I dont think so. It was always like that.

But it still doesnt mean anything, theres a lot of poor people that are extremaly funky and women like it

Empowering women has made the game more difficult for today's men. They are not as financially dependent on men as they were pre 1980. Social Media has made the game more difficult for today's men as well. Its created artificial popularity. An HB6 thinks she is an HB8 because she got a 150 likes on her faKebook pic she posted with her t*ts hanging out. (Sorry Julian.... ;-) had to).

The most ambitious, wealthy, attractive, successful, confident, and aggressive men have always been rewarded by the best women. Women see men as "success" symbols. Men see women as "sex" symbols.

The beta's or men that have less "success" symbols to attract the opposite sechs have always struggled. They don't have the traits that women want.
