"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

To pay or not to pay is arguably one of the biggest dilemmas during the earlier stages of dating. In one hand, it is AFC-like to pay because it makes you seem as if you're putting the woman already on a pedestal. On the other hand, "traditional" girls expect you to "be a gentleman and pay for her," (see the woman that got $1000+ in free dinners from a multitude of men).

So how do you do it? Do you pay or not and why?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Usually try for an active date that costs nothing at all. If not, then it will be a short and sweet one (drink / icecream). If Im the one to ask her out then I will pay, but i have NEVER taken a new girl to dinner. (I may have taken 2 girls to dinner and they were deep into LTR with me at the times).

The most expensive thing is a round of drinks, but if she doesnt at least offer to get the second round, I wont offer a second date.

I will be a gentleman, but in the same hand - I wont compromise on my expectations for Her behaviour.

North America, probably an airport
I do stuff I would be doing anyway. So having a 'date' with me is a nice addition but unnecessary to anything in my life.

Paying or not paying? No big deal either way. Who cares?

First date are always drink dates with me. I do round for round. It shows her I'm not 'doing' anything for her approval and it also allows things to kick off with mutual respect. Whatever path you lay from the onset, is the one you'll have to follow. Pay once, end up paying forever. You'll start looking like a douche if half way through second date for example you start asking her to start contributing..

It really depends

I usually pay

However I try to get girls to come to my house always
I live in a nice part of town and whilst my apartment isn't pimp it's sufficent enough to get the job done.

For chicks that don't wanna meet in my apartment right away I either do a cheap Happy hour date or something else.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I usually pay for the dates, but that's because I usually do the asking. I think whoever asks the other out, should pay. If a girl asked me out, and then expected me to pay for the date (or at least didn't offer to pay), I'd be pretty offended.

Most of the time, the first date is a couple of alcoholic drinks or coffee to see if we would like talking to each other for more than an hour. If so, the rest of the dates would gradually see more of my effort till I got laid, which is usually anywhere between 3 and 6 dates, I'd say. Most of my relationships with women have been pretty evenly split overall in terms of money spending. Some girls sometimes paid for the first date too even though I was the one who asked them out which is kind of nice.

I never do dinner on a first date, and I've seen a few girls in online game try to get me to buy them dinner. They expect us to do it, for no reason other than they're women and we should worship them and be thankful that they are enriching us with their presence. So ridiculous.
