It's TRENDY man, what do you expect.

it doesnt really make a difference to me.

ask most girls about tats on their lower backs and they usually will tell you they did it on spring break or while they were drunk/high or both and they don't really like them but its to late now.

I am usually on the look out for girls with that lower back tat but have made it personal, something more than a "Trendy" tribal thing or chinese/japanese character.

But some tats are just stupid and when i spot these i just shake my head at the girl. I know a girl with a tulip on her foot. THAT is stupid. She also has tribal **** on her back.

the last chick i met with a tribal tatoo above her ass crack, had a sh!tload of guy friends and was in the process of moving out of bf's apartment/breaking up. She was a very laid back girl and didnt apear slutty at all.

No, not at all. As I've always said, a tattoo on a beautiful girl is like a bumper sticker on a Ferrari. That pretty much sums up my feelings on tattoos on chicks. I suppose I'd be perfectly fine with an ankle tatto or perhaps a small, nice on one her arm or something.

As for tattoos on guys, specifically me, I don't think I would ever get one unless it were kinda small, in a somewhat inconspicuous place, and symbolized something that was really meaningful to me.

First of all, I've got two myself...One on the upper part of my right bicep, and one on the left side of my upper back (shoulder blade?), which I enjoy...Saying a girl shouldn't have tattoos would be fairly hypocritcal of me.

There are, however, certain 'tats on a chick I would find very unattractive including:

-Something big (i.e. more than 3"x3")
-Something insane like a swastika, ex-boyfriend name, or something really messed up like a naked guy or shemale (ew).
-Something meaningless...I really disapprove of anyone getting a tattoo for the sole purpose of having one, and not having a meaning to it. It's with you forever, so make it count.
-Japanese/Chinese/Whatever symbols...Ugh, I dont want to explain this, but I don't like those.
-Band logos...Stupid.

I also don't like it when chicks get 'tats on something visible in normal conditions. By this, I mean I places like the forearms, legs, neck, face, etc. My one exception to this is on the foot/ankle. There's a girl I know with a sexxxy rose (her mom's name is Rose, too) wrapped around her ankle which is really neat.

As for getting them on the lower back, I like those for the most part. I dated a girl with a cute little colourful butterfly on her lower back...You can speculate when I viewed this thing the most

That's exactly why a tatoo isn't that important to me.
