"do you have a girlfriend?"

Im 19 and I am quite happy with who i am now and i kind of sleep around a bit, which is ok, but as far as my parents are aware i dont have a girlfriend and never did. and based on the way they talk to me, i tend to think that they believe ive never even kissed a girl. i choose not to tell them about this part of my life

So pretty much everytime i see them, one of them will ask "so do you have a girlfriend yet?" and my aunts/grandparents ask me the same thing.

I'll usually just say something like "nah, no time for that" with a smile, or "nope. haven't found one i like yet" and they typically respond with something like "oh. dont worry youll find someone" and im like "ummm ok"

so the problem is they're taking this the wrong way and basically think im a loser. im almost at the point now in going out with a girl for a while and bringing her home to my parents just to prove "hey look i have a girlfriend, wow, amazing isn't it??? now will you stop bugging me about it"

some responses ive experimented with are "naa, ill save the long term relationship thing for when i get married" or "nope. but the next time im in a relationship with a girl for more than a week, you'll be the first to know"

that kind of works, but i dont think they get the point yet

Hey man, at least your family cares about that part of your life.

My whole family is AFC and hasn't said anything to me about dating, sex, relationships, friends, or anything. They're workaholics, and while I love them to bits, sometimes I question how much they know about those topics at all.

Do what you have to do for yourself buddy. Try to please everybody and you'll fvck up, so don't worry about what they think. They think you're a loser? Who cares, you don't have to prove yourself to anybody. How you deal with this situation will tell you something about yourself.

I told my mom that i have 3 girlfriends, she didn't seem to mind

My parents and family used to be like that. So I introduced my mum to this girl I had been seeing. Next day I introduced her to a girl who I see on weekends. Day after that I introduced her to a girl in my class who I "help with her homework" every now and then. Now if my grandparents ask me if I have a girlfriend my mother just shakes her head and gestures to them not to ask from behind my back.
