"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

I am 100% sure I do not want kids, part of what really hurts about losing my ex is she felt the same way. I am 32. I feel in this age range it's really hard to find a girl that does not want kids or does not already have them. They are just not for me, I like the extra money and I like to travel and be able to just randomly go on a trip and not have to worry about much. Dogs are about all I can handle.

When I browse around POF/OKcupid and filter by (not wanting kids) it goes from like 100 matches to like 3. I'm ok dating someone who wants kids but I could never do a LTR with them.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

I've met a few. My ex-wife didn't want children. Your "three out of a hundred" sounds about right though, they're definitely a minority.

I've known other women who for years said they didn't want children, but then later changed their mind.

I remember telling someone that I didn't want children and their reply was "Wow, that's selfish". I think it was a woman who said that but I don't remember for certain. Nonetheless, I've always remembered that comment. I suppose there's some truth to it.

Either way it probably came from someone who either had kids or wanted them. And they were thinking in terms of your significant other and assuming that they would want kids.

Oh, I hadn't thought about them thinking about my significant other. I guess that's a possibility. I just took it as they thought I would be living a selfish existence if I didn't have children. I would be living for myself rather than passing something on to the next generation or whatever.

As for my ex-wife, I think part of her deal was the thought of childbirth freaked her out. Not sure I can blame her for that.

I know several women who do not have or want kids. Certainly in the minority, but much higher than 3%. I think it really does have a lot to do with geographic region, population density and male/female ratio.

As for dating sites, try adding "undecided" to the search. There may be many women who could go either way or who don't want kids but, like you, have found that declaring themselves as never wanting children reduces their options.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I've known a few. They definitely weren't your typical females however. I really do think that most females feel deeply inside that motherhood is the greatest career of all. The girls I'm thinking of simply didn't.

They all had something that mattered too much in their lives for them to be "sidetracked" by kids. Sometimes it was career, sometimes it was their elderly parents, sometimes dogs or cats (although I'm not sure about the cause/effect relationship between no kids and pet obsession. Chick or egg?), sometimes it was the never-ending party.

I guess if you want to find these girls simply look at what they focus on instead of children and go there. The Internet is a very bad idea. OKCupid is single mom central. Many of the women there are internet dating because they can't get out to meet people because of their responsibilities. I'd say look at bars for slightly older women who clearly enjoy their relatively carefree lives and want to continue them. Look at networking events for professionals. Many of these are actually RAN by women like the ones you're looking for. Look at cruises. Women love cruises, especially if they don't have kids to drag along. Other travel groups too. Look at animal rescue groups for obvious reasons.

Why is it selfish not to want kids?

Is it selfish not to want to bring an innocent child into a world certain to destroy itself?

Who asks the child if they want to live? Nobody. The parents decide that's what they want. Which one is selfish?

I'm dating a girl who does not want kids and it's very nice not to have that chat. When you're over 30, it is indeed a deal-breaker for most women because once they get the baby rabies, you cannot get them off that track.
