"Cougar" is a silly word. Why not just say "sexy older woman"? I suppose the word "old" there is the problem. TV reality shows and the like wanted a sexier word, so someone made it up and the colleagues in the business picked it up. And then the hoi polloi follow suit because they saw it on TV. But it's still silly. It is meant to make you forget something, to smooth out the wrinkles so to speak. To take the "old" out of "sexy older woman." I don't like that; I want thought to adapt to reality, rather than to the cover words that describe reality - like soft snow, blurring the outline and covering up all the details. It is a good start to get rid of the trivial cover words, and go from there to the bigger stuff.

I think "cougar" implies a woman in her middle-aged years (40-60) who prowls for younger men. It's such a big pop-culture term now though that I think people use it referring to any woman over 30 who is sexy or trying to be sexy.

Just found this article, soooo double the women make more money these days; therefore they can "afford" to get all dressed up and botoxed to enable them to be able to "attack" young guys?? I think it has to do with the majority of young guys not being able to have a relationship with women their age, leaving them (AFC chumps) desperate for any tail.

The truth is, I DO see a lot more hotter older women than hotter older men. For example, Demi Moore is nearly 50 now, and Jennifer Aniston is over 40. They both claim to not have work done, so you can assume that if they DID have work done, it was minimal. They certainly aren't "gross" or "saggy". Most 40 year old women are NOT gross or saggy.

But it really goes both ways. If a person takes care of themselves, no smoking, no sunbathing, working out, eating well, then most likely they are going to look good well into middle age.

Either way, people, I really think that this whole "old bashing" business needs to stop. It's really negative, and we ALL are heading down that path anyways. Bashing so much really is just going to make it harder for YOU when you are there, which won't be long. Our lifespans are SHORT, buddies.
