All dating guides explain that a girl's desire for you decreases the more she perceives you want her. How long does this tenet apply to a relationship?

I applied it to the second serious relationship I ever had, which was also the longest relationship I ever had at just over a year. The principles worked well at first. When she tested me I'd give her a take-it-or-leave-it response. Eventually, though, she told me that she didn't believe I really loved her because I kept her at arm's length emotionally even though we'd been together for more than a year.

I continued the Don Juan principles partly because of my experience from the first serious relationship that I'd had a few years before, which really devastated me when that girl ended it. That earlier relationship was with the first girl I'd ever loved. I was naive and too trusting then. That girl she told me she loved me. I believed her and we got engaged after knowing each other for 5 months.

This second time around, I might have carried the method too far or just the wrong way. Do DJ principles only apply to the initial stages of dating? Was I wrong to apply them to a girl I'd been dating for more than a year?

Being a DJ is all about realizing who you are and becoming a confident man. There are certain techniques used to get and keep a woman, but sticking to a set of rules too stringently will cause problems. This site covers a broad range of situations and provides extenstive advice, but you will always have to custom fit the advice to your particular situation. If a girl is way into you, you do not need to play the games nearly as much. DJ skills as they are taught on this site are mainly meant to show guys how to act like men rather than AFCs. If you learn how to act like a real man, everything else will follow naturally without much effort.

Because I just don't like the question. Being a DJ is not about "techniques," but the essence of what you are.

DJ while not in a relationship, DJ while in a relationship. All the same.
