"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Do girls really get that much of an ego boost from texting?

I've had several experiences that im not proud of in which I'll text a girl (usually one who i met at a bar) once or twice or a week for a few weeks, occasionally seeing if shes available to meet up for lunch or to hit-up a bar. Eventually i give up and stop texting her if she doesn't agree to anything after my first few attempts.

Thing is a lot of these girls seem like they will happily keep leading me on and having conversations via text with little to no intention of ever escalating our relationship beyond this point.

I, like most of you, chalk this up to them either enjoying the ego boost of receiving attention via text or are just being nice.

I can understand the latter, but do they really get that much an ego boost from a freaking text? What the hell? I hate when people I dont want to talk to text me. Its even worse when an ugo who I previously hit on and exchanged numbers with when drunk texts me. I make every effort to be nice without extending the conversation or showing interest. Thats because im a sane person and since I have no desire to see her again, I therefore dont want to get to know her better or gain a comfort level with her. So I don't lead her on.

And yes i can tell when a girl has low interest when we text. The worst though is those who convey some interest and maintain a conversation but have no desire to ever meet up.

This is mainly a rant against the sad state of the female ego and how annoying I find it - mainly on principle though since texting is so freaking easy. Though I guess easiness and low commitment level of texting is part of the reason why girls do this shiit. Still, leading someone on for your own personal gain is so diick, especially when that personal gain is just a small ego boost.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? I love texting because of how easy it is and allows you to comfortably communicate with girls you don't know well. Still, after too much of shiit like this i may just start calling girls after the first few texts or something. Guess you old guys and your telephones win.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Nope, never had that problem. Only time (and a short period at that) stands in the way of me sticking my tongue down her throat from the moment she replies back to my text. It's a different story if she doesn't reply, but that happens has often as an eclipse.

Again, wish I could help.

If they're showing interest via text but it's clear they do not want to further their relationship with you, why do you continue to text them and let them have their cake and eat it too?
