i wrote this in response to a post but i feel its a good tip for everyone. also sorry my spelling sucks..
humor is a major cornerstone of my game. AFC humor otherwise know as low status humor and DJ humor are different. yes you can still be funny and the life of the party and have all your friends cracking up laughing but you have to do this is high status way.
ill try to explain
AFC humor = making a fool of your self acting retarded to get laughs, never being serious, being the "clown" it gets laughs but dosent get you anywhere and your being laughed at, its objective oriented to get someone to like you
DJ humor = misdirection misinterpretation, characters. teasing her or a person, misinterpreting what they say, thinking of things in a different light, think outside the box. this shows social intelligence, and intelligence. not outcome dependent. said like you mean it no matter the response. some things just aren't funny to others all the time, at least you will crack yourself up
think of characters in tv comedy shows like how i met your mother, or in two and a half men, each person plays a specific character and it is the characters point of view on things thats makes it funny. you can pretend, and have fun playing different characters. like playing the jerk or the rich bastard and whatnot even if u aren't actually those. done in a ****y funny way it makes it fun.
heres an example of some, always assume the frame, dont ask what she means, assume she means what you think of if it is a statment or word that you dont understand or a job that you havent heard of make up a funny meaning for it an assume thats what it means. say she asks what you do for work, boring ppl say their actual job, you could be like "im a male stripper" and run with it, you have to have a serious look on your face but say something completely unbelievable. and if they react like "i cant belive you just said that!" type of thing, dont suddenly say sorry HOLD YOUR FRAME its a **** test fellas.
get into banters and role playing with stuff like that, DJ humor is not always "safe" you have to be resquie and not politically correct, "safe isent sexy" dont plan stuff its improv, and if you really offend her just apologize ppl appreciate your boldness
another example, in casino royale when bond wins that guys car at the beginning of the movie and he offers to take the girl to his house for a drink, she gets in the car and he drives in a circle and parks back at the hotel saying "welcome to my home" or sum thing like that, good example of misdirection.
think of the ali G show, for the characters he plays, hes not actually like that all the time but he has fun with those characters, and interpreting things from their point of view, make up your own characters, not the voice things and stuff but see comments and from that point of view.
this turned into a long post, hmm this works wonders for me though when i get stuck and cant think of much to say. use your environment, her or people around you as targets of humor. or objects.
to be funnier, watch lots of comedy acts or shows, ones where they are not just goofing around and making idiots of themselves, its funny but dosent make anyone want to sleep with them. making fun of yourself is self-deprecating. hard to do in a DJ way.
humor can be situational, think of something completely odd or out their, as to how someone would react, this one is from a stand up comedy guy cant think of which one but heres another example ill leave you with this
"Think of a world, where their is no war, no poverty, no disease, the people have never know such horrors, its blue sky, crystal clear oceans, vast landscapes, its beautiful to behold,
that is truly a world i would like to invade!, they wouldn't stand a f**kin chance against us!"
