"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I got a call from this girl I am kind of friends with (Girl1). She invites me to go up to a club with her and her friend (Girl2). I didn't want to go with two chicks, so I called up a friend and asked him to come. He didn't want to, so against my better judgement, I decide to go with the two chicks. One of them I knew (girl1) and the other one I had seen around once or twice (girl2).

So they get to my house at about 9:30 looking pretty damn good. Girl2 is already trashed. I decide to drive and we head up to the club. It's about an hour drive. Girl2 is flirting the whole way, saying she wants me to come back home with her after we get out of the club and all that sh1t. She's a former stripper, so I just joke with her and keep it going--mostly just teasing.

We're trying to find parking and decide on a lot. It's $10 to park there and I tell them both to pitch in. Girl1 has no money and girl2 only has $3. Who the fvck goes clubbing without money? I'm agitated at this point, but I take gir2's $3 and pay the rest. We're outside the club waiting for the dude with the list to come out (girl1 was on the list and got us in for free) and girl2 is saying she's cold and she needs me to hug her. I'm hugging her and feeling on her tits and sh1t outside the club.

So I get inside and split up with the girls. They get on the dancefloor and do their thing and I hung out at the bar and made some small talk with a few guys while I get some drinks in me. I quickly notice the guy to girl ratio is about 5:1 and I'm pretty disappointed. No approaches done tonight, but I'm not really a fan of cold approaches anyway.

The music totally sucked. It was a dance club but they didnt play dance music. Just a bunch of alternative songs witht he bass cranked way the fvck up. So around 1:30am I've had about 6 beers, I'm getting pretty drunk, and I decide it's time to go. Girl2 had found some dude and was hanging all over her. She said she was going home with him. I find girl1 and she's all pissed off that I want to leave early(the club closes at 2am, it was only 30 mins early).

Basically they were both having tantrums about leaving early. I said hey whatever, I'm out of here. They had plenty of chances to come, but chose to complain instead. I grabbed my coat and left the place.

Both of them are now stranded 1 hour from home as I type this. :p

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
