"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

I met a girl at a pub last weekend and we seemed to hit it off. I noticed her right away but didn't really think twice since it was early and I had just met up with my friends. Later in the night she came up to me and started chatting it up. We talked for a good couple of hours off and on throughout the night.
I playing it cool, hanging out with my friends and she would come over and we'd talk, then I'd go back to my friends, then we'd talk again and so on and so on.
At the end of the night she asked me for my number and I said sure but you give me yours too. We exchanged numbers and that was it.
I called her 2 nights later(Sunday) to ask her out for drinks on Wednesday. She said sure so I told her I would call her wednesday night before I left.
Tuesday night I get a text message from her saying "I have to cancel tomorrow, call me tomorrow and I'll explain why". I called her the next day to see what was up and she didn't answer. Later that night I get another text message saying "My grandmother had a heart attack and I'm at the hospital, I will email or call you if I get a chance". And that was it, I havent heard back from her yet... I know its only the next day

My question is, do you think she made up the story to get out of the date?
Its definitly possible that it happened, and it seems like such a horrible cliche to say "I cant make our date, my grandma is in the hospital", to not be true. But why would she text message me and not just call to explain. How come she says she will either call or email me? Why email me? Why not just call?.
If she did make it up just to get out of the date, why did her feelings change so much from the night at the bar to now. She was all over me, she asked for my number before I asked for hers so she must of been interested. I know you're gonna say it was because she was drinking, which she was, but she wasn't wasted looking for a one night stand, she had to leave early to work the next day and left with her friends.
I think she made it up and I won't hear from her again. Should I try calling in a few days or just wait and see if she calls me and if not forget about her?
This is really bugging me not knowing if she made this up, what do you think happened?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Don't call. Don't wait. Live your life. If it happens it happens, if not, whatever, you're a don juan. Don't waste time analyzing.

This is the email I got from her this morning.
What should I make of it and how should I respond?

Hey

I am sorry I havent called you. I have been dealing with a lot, and I cant
really get into it. I just wanted to let you know that I really think you
are a nice guy, however I am not ready to meet or see anyone. I just dont
have time in my life for a guy, and I dont want to lead you on by going out
for a drink or anything because I really just have no time for anyone or
anything. I am sorry if that sounds mean. I would love to be friends, not
sure if that is something you are looking for. I am just dealing with a lot
right now, but I thought I should at least let you know whats going on.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

So, she thinks your a nice guy?

Ask her if she was thinking this before or after she lied about the heart attack!

Girl approaches you and later asks for your phone # and then does this? OK, we all know that if a woman is interested in you she will go out of her way just to be with you so she is probably not telling you the truth.

Is it possible she found out something about you? I don't know perhaps someone has been talking **** about you behind your back so now she steers away.

This is whats bothering me. If I had approached her and got her number, then I could see perhaps she wasn't interested to begin with. But she came up to me, followed me around all night then asked for my number. We have one 5 minute conversation and all of a sudden she doesn't want anything to do with me.
And whats this 'lets be friends' ****? She has time for a new friend but no time for a date? Does she think I'm an idiot? I don't go up to random women at the bar and see if they want to be my ****in friend.

Sorry for the rant, but **** like this pisses me off.

An easier explaination would be the alcohol. She was slightly intoxicated having a good time while under the influence. She might have had high interest in the moment but when she collected her thoughts and woke up in the morning she changed her mind. Don't take it personal, move on.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
