"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

This girl in my math class today asked me for a set of notes that she had missed when she was absent. She's kinda cute, not a hot babe or anything but very sweet and soft-spoken. Since she gave me such few words and did it so quietly, there was some miscommunication: I thought she was telling me that she wanted me to hand her the notes, she'd copy them today, and she'd give them back tomorrow (She would have had to meet up with me somewhere cuz I don't have her for any class tomorrow). What she really meant was that she wanted to meet up somewhere tomorrow to make a copy of it in the morning. Eventually we agreed that i'd meet her in the math lab so she can make a copy of it there after my first class.

If I would have known what she was asking exactly I would have told her to call me to remind me.. But it was just a case of miscommunication..

So do you think I messed up, or, how should I take it from here?

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

umm i wouldnt take this situation all to seriously.. i mean she is just getting notes from you.. it could mean she MIGHT be a LITTLE interested - but i dont think it blatanly means she likes you.

JUST - hook her up w the notes, MAKE sure she pays for the copys, even if they are like 10c(cents)... then just say something like "hey (name), we should go shoot some pool sometime?(or what ever date u want).... she what she says, take it from there - just be casual man

Thing is, I thought she was asking me to take the notes home and she would give them to me tomorrow.. I was reluctant to do so because we have a test Friday so I didn't want to risk the chance of her forgetting or what not. If not for this, I know I would have told her to call me.

Anyone else?

You was reluctant because you were nervous. You wanted to tell her to call you but you simply didn't. But now that moment is frozen in time and you cant change it. If you still want her, the next time you see go and ask for her number. Simple.

Nope, you're wrong. Giving her the number didn't even cross my mind at the beginning because I was just trying to fend her off in a way so that she'd ask someone else for the notes.. but then after I left the classroom, that's when it occured to me that I should have. But I'll ask her next time.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

And that is all that counts.
