"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Hi friends!
Have any of you watched the movie Fireproof (2008)?
What do you think, beyond what the media wants to tell us?

I remember someone recommending it here on the forum

All I understand is that it tells men to love regardless of whether the woman deserve it or not.
But I really don't understand how this could benefit a man's life.

If a woman behaves badly like that, then men should start loving, having faith, and not consider what the woman does as ingratitude and disrespect?

So the man has to buffer his woman from going through a period where her emotions are disconnected.
She might also be seeing other men (which is seen as "normal" in the movie), but he should "hold firm." And wait for her emotions to come back..

It just makes me think the man isn't strong.
In reality, he's just a weakling, who sacrificed himself for her. Waiting her.

She understands him, but she doesn't love or desire him.
In her mind, a woman can only say, "He's waiting", "He's weak," "He has nothing but me."
So the woman actually settle.

This whole thing about a man having to make every effort for her. She still asks him why he's going to such lengths...How often do we see this happen in real-life relationships... very very often.
Many many men are into this thing..

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

*TLDR- skip to bottom for simple answer and NOT the book report.*

I remember watching it a LOOOONG time ago. Probably close to when it came out. Not only was it hilariously wrong in their attempts at relatable depictions (what can we expect from a sheltered Christian entertainment company? *Not* taking a swing at religion here.) but I agree with the notion it makes men look pretty weak. People mistakenly claim that religion is free from whacking men down in society. Oh good grief. Sometimes it is WORSE within the church.

Point being, sure, you should really try to be present and aware of the other person in a relationship and a man should LEAD. Great. But this doesn't excuse a woman's role entirely. Aren't we supposed to be celebrating and empowering women when they bring love and beauty to our lives? Heck yes! I love to do that!

But for real, are women unhinged cheating machines waiting to happen if a man has one moment of weakness with little agency of their own or are they empowered queens who shouldn't even be worried about ANY men? Both extremes seem to be worshipped by too many. I'm exaggerating sure.

*TLDR, I did not like this movie.*
