"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Why does the site block the word o-u-t-w-a-r d, like ******dly?

I suggest two stickies:

- A sticky for Don Juan Bible editing ideas. Nobody knows who to direct their ideas to, and there are a lot of articles far better than those in the bible. Thee articles die from the lack of direction. We all have a lot of interest in better educating noobs so there are less ignorant questions. These days you can tell a noob because he has swallowed the bible whole and never stops ranting about C/F, push/pull, namely, the ideas in the Bible that are overrepresented for their importance in normal interactions.

- a sticky for date ideas. This would be more useful than a sticky for say pickup lines or situations. It would become a centralized resource where everybody could post their date ideas. That way, people would have no excuse to clog the board asking for date ideas, and the board would be more efficient and easier to use. It's either in the sticky, or it's not. Today, people can use the search function and find a lot of ideas too. But I think a sticky would be even better.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

O-u-t-w-a-r is an online strategy game that used to use a system of power ups or experience point type things based on how many people you could get to click a link to the site. After people got tired of clicking the obvious links, players started hiding them by naming the link something else, but it still had to use the name in the URL, so blocking the word prevents that. Of course, the game no longer uses that sort of experience system, so keeping the word banned is a bit silly.

Although, knowing the types of geeks that play this sort of game, they may have phased out the hidden link power-ups in the game just long enough to try to get admins to un-ban the word thinking there's no need for the ban anymore, then reinstate the system after enough sites would allow it again. That's what I would do if I was in that situation. A redirect page link like eBay email spammers use would work better, but you can't do everything right.

Look for the stickied Golden Tip Album in the Tips forum.

That'll solve your bible woos.

As for 'date ideas', loads of them in the search.

Yeah I mentioned the search in my post. That idea I'm not sure is any good.

I had read the golden tip album before, but forgotten about it. What a great resource! It may solve my bible woes, but I'm also not just a bit tired of n00bs reading the DJB and having all sorts of preposterous ideas put in their head. By calling it the bible, we are saying that those articles are what we believe, and are what work.

The posts on attitude are great. But the tips themselves... c/f, push/pull, 3 day rule, we just don't believe that stuff works anymore. "Never compliment a girl" - i mean these posts are making great points - if you have enough experience to understand precisely what they mean. If not, well, you get a kbj.

Maybe these posts are necessary to "trick" readers onto the right path. But is there really no better way? Can't we replace outdated articles with articles we actually believe work?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Yeah, that's why I thought of the idea. People were complaining about not having an updated resource for good tips (especially recent ones), so heck, that's why it's stickied.

Add to it.
---
As for the older basic stuff as you said, newbies don't believe in it because they dont' know how to use the sh!t effectively. They make a bad joke, and then they knock C&F, or this chick they really like (and she clearly doesn't), so he tries everything in the book and fails, and he knocks the book...

But, for someone like me, who knows how to use the stuff, it's Gold. 3 seconds from a acceptable distance to approach, beautiful if I'm in a social mood. C&F, I'm usually quick on the ball for thinking of the approach line, even if it eventually becomes 'Hey'.

I however really disagree on never complimenting...again, it comes with experience, but saying something like "You look nice today", or "I like the way you did your hair" doesn't hurt anything. Of course, then you roll in something like "What colour do you think my hair should be?", and ta-da, you don't look like a fag.

The old posts are good, but there's a lot of new material being ignored...a LOT of it. I think I should throw up a FR link sticky as well. So you post a FR, and you make a post linking to it in this thread. Just helps with documenting, I'll have to talk with Shezz about how we should get that formatted, because he's on a few other fourms with FRs, so if we could get that content together...that'd be another awesome resource....

I'm gonna add some stuff to it right now. There's so many great tips!

That would be an amazing resource for the FR thing. I've got about 10 from a month in France alone. (women were coming at me from every direction!)

The three-second rule is probably the best thing there (not that I ever follow it), c/f works if you know what you're doing.

It sounds like we agree about some of those tips on the DJB - they're gold if you've got a lot of experience - it's platinum really. But I think a lot of those tips should go in a special "advanced section." If you don't have the experience, a lot of those posts will lead you astray, period.

It doesn't sound like you disagree.

Not at all, even simple advice is priceless to the right person. :D
That's true.

But you see, do you not, the advice on there has lead a lot of n00bs astray, myself included?

“The 22 Psychological Triggers That Make Women Chase You… Starting Tonight”

Forget the cash, the cars, and the chiseled jawlines. Female desire operates on a completely different frequency. Primal. Subconscious. Triggers that bypass her logic and hit her on a gut level. Most guys are totally blind to them.

I know because I was one of them. The overthinking. The paralysis. The silent drive home kicking yourself for freezing up. Watching average guys walk away with the girl while you stood there stuck in your own head.

Then I decoded the psychology behind what actually makes women tick. 22 hard rules.  Subtle behavioral shifts that rewired my entire reality. The anxiety evaporated. Women started leaning in. Investing. Chasing.

I have way more experience than some guys here, I also have way less than some. If you want to know exactly how experienced I am, run a search on me for my FRs, my DJBC experiences. I would really appreciate any thoughts you have.

I'm still afraid to approach, and I hate it - I still approach sometimes. Despite this fact, I'm somehow dating four women lol. You know, it's great how many people are questioning my experience. Just more motivation to get out there and approach, which I have a terrible time doing.

I refuse to post an idea unless I've tested it. It can be tempting sometimes, since ideas seem perfect in my mind before I've tried them, but no, I keep self-discipline on that one.

All this about the DJ bible, I know from experience that some of its advice about techniques was leading me astray. Maybe I needed to be led astray to find the right path, but I hope not.

If you have any more questions, feel free. A girl loves nothing more than to talk about herself :p

Experience is the best lesson. You could screw it up 10 times before getting it right, or since you might be a natural, get it instantly. You can't be lead astray if you believe in what you're doing. It's only when you discover that maybe what you did didn't work out as expected, then we're lead astray and we carve another notch into the experience pole.

How does one not contradict the other?

Hey, do you go out and test your ideas? (hehe I'm about to get smoked like a chicken)

Also, I lived in "Can-duh-a" for a while...where you from?

*starts the grill on my Burnatronic 5000 BBQ...*

Well, if you believe in something, are you being lead astray at that point? People believe in religion to the death of themselves, only someone on the outside calls them stupid for blowing up.

Next...once you discover that well...damn, you didn't reach heaven or whatever by blowing yourself up, then I guess that wasn't a smart idea, make a big mental afterlife note to yourself to not do it next time.

Same deal in real life.
