Most shoulder exercises fall into one of two categories: Pressing movements and lateral movements. Try for 3-4 sets of each different type.
My shoulder routine is as follows:
day 1- Military presses: 4 sets, bent over laterals: 4 sets
day 2- Upright rows: 4 sets, side laterals: 4 sets.
Also, stay away from presses behind the neck. They tend to cause shoulder problems.
When you do side laterals, use good form. Don't throw the dbs up. As you raise them, lower the front part of the dumbell, just as if you were pouring a pitcher of water.
I also recommend doing traps as part of your back workout.
