"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I think this is a wonderful article that, though not issuing any totally new advice, provides some concrete pointers that are often forgotten when dealing with women of whom a guy is trying to go further with.

One of the BIGGEST lessons I have learned about being able to continue with a women is GIVING HER SPACE, like DeAngelo says. She needs to have time to miss you, to think about you and wonder.

In fact, I think this is one main reason why my previous relationship didn't go all that well after she got over her infatuation stage with me (which was about a month). I started calling her EVERY DAY at least, sometimes multiple times!

She never thought about how much she missed me because I was ALWAYS THERE! So instead, that allowed her to focus on the NEGATIVE ASPECTS.

Then, I tried to reconcile the problem by thinking about us more and tried to fix the problem with MORE attention. This led to a downward spiral.

Luckily, I escaped that relationship. Also luckily, I am not making the same mistakes again. For instance, with this girl I am dating right now, I don't call her AT LEAST for a couple days. She has HER SPACE. I don't wonder what she's doing or question her AT ALL.

The result? Her IL continues to rise!

And so I think DeAngelo is right on the mark with this article. I am curious what others think about it.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

He's right you know.

Every DJ should read the classic by R Cialdini 'Influence' ;)

I think poor old DD is getting a bit of a rough ride here. If you couldn't write a book unless all it's content was newly created material, there would be the bible (the first self help book) and, well nothing else.

What he does is get stuff across to people so they understand and utilise it. Just like Anthony Robbins. It's not all new, but the way he puts it across is very usable.

Give the guy a break, good for him.
