I went to school in a bad part of town. The city I was in had about 30 percent of the people living under the poverty line and the average family income was around $28,000. Not a good place to grow up but I am happy I made it out alive. Most of the kids in my graduating class are in prison or working low income jobs.

Most of the area was Black and I was a kid to immigrant parents so that really messed with my head since I was always overlooked. Plus I was bullied too, never physically but hearing racist stuff all the time since I wasn't Black.

Then I finally went away to college and had a tough time breaking through to all of my classmates who were all White and just had this limiting belief in my head that I wasn't good enough.

All these kids had these great childhoods, were so well rounded, and are so far ahead of me while I had to be in a ****hole for most of my teenage years. It just messed with my head do much and stunted my self-confidence. It still does to this day.

How do I overcome this stuff?????

Time. Self-reflection. Self-awareness. Knowing yourself.

The world you live in now is just a reflection of a world now created by you through your own beliefs. In short it's just a dream. We just don't know it's a dream. We think it's real.

In order to wake up we need to constantly keep checking what state we are in. Angry? happy? Depressed? Feeling we are not good enough? That is the only way to overcome this stuff.

Shine a light on what is bothering you. Your light being consciousness. once you see that state and realise you are not the state, it is just a limiting state, it will disappear like a puff of smoke.

it is no coincidence Jesus proclaimed to be 'the light' and 'the way'. he is only talking about what is going on inside of us.

failing that you could see a shrink.

Me too, but I didn't let it turn me into such a vagina. You're not the only one who grew up poor. I'm guessing you had things a lot better than your parents did. I'm also guessing they busted both their tails to give you the opportunities that you did have. Yet you can do nothing but whine and complain in return for their hard work.

Whatever problems you have, your not-so-sad life is certainly not to blame.
