I went to school in a bad part of town. The city I was in had about 30 percent of the people living under the poverty line and the average family income was around $28,000. Not a good place to grow up but I am happy I made it out alive. Most of the kids in my graduating class are in prison or working low income jobs.
Most of the area was Black and I was a kid to immigrant parents so that really messed with my head since I was always overlooked. Plus I was bullied too, never physically but hearing racist stuff all the time since I wasn't Black.
Then I finally went away to college and had a tough time breaking through to all of my classmates who were all White and just had this limiting belief in my head that I wasn't good enough.
All these kids had these great childhoods, were so well rounded, and are so far ahead of me while I had to be in a ****hole for most of my teenage years. It just messed with my head do much and stunted my self-confidence. It still does to this day.
How do I overcome this stuff?????
