"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I don't know if this is how I describe the guys but I will describe a situation which involve these kinds of guys.

By nature I am a calm and laid back guy but I tend to run into some guys who are just looking for confrontation. Most of the times these are guys who have met me a few times but they are very negative to be around. They are gossiping anyone they can and when you are chatting with your friends they are testing you. Usually this is done by delivering a slight insults or just openly insulting you out of nowhere. These guys are frustrated in life and are just looking for a fight or some kind of a confrontation with just about anyone. The amount of complaining and gossiping they do is present in every conversation you have with them, it is the only thing that happens when you hang out with them.

How do you deal with these guys?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Dont hang out with them.
This or if they are good friends in a bad spot you do what you do to a woman when she brings up undesirable topics change the subject.

Granted since they are insulting you I'm guessing they're not good friends.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Drop toxic people out of your life. See yourself as a plant. If you want to be mentally and emotionally healthy, then you must trim out the dying leaves.

Be more aloof, and be more direct.

If they cant figure you out, and if you tend to poke fun at yourself rather than take yourself seriously, you'll be slightly less likely to be made fun of. You also must be direct, there are times when you should cut straight through the BS and say what you want to say.

In DJ terms you should be the alpha, which means you shouldnt care what they think because you know that your a decent fellow. You shouldnt be an ass who's obsessed with himself either. And sometimes, you put people in their place when they need to be. At a certain point you will just naturally have most people's respect. Be a little more assertive.
I used to be a push over, and a lot of people didnt respect me. Now that I dont give a crap, I hold firm to my beliefs but Im also kind of soft on the inside, 99.9% of people seem to respect me. Half the time I go through a door Im holding it for someone else, the other half of the time someone holds it for me.

If these were women you would hit them with a neg comment every once and a while to cut them down a notch, then build them back up with a compliment on occasion. If you balance the two you will gain control because they will subconciously want to win your approval and hear nice things, not the neg comments.

You don’t deal with these guys, you just avoid them. Why would you even hang around some miserable gossiping junk? You hang around interesting/successful people. There is a saying, not sure about proper wording, but idea is that you become who you hang with.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
