"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I was on my way to college carrying my backpack and I was walking on a very narrow path of the sidewalk. The sidewalk was jammed pack with people moving about. I stopped for a second to grab my cell phone cause I though it was ringing. As I place the phone in my pocket I hear someone yell behind me: "HEY YOU STOP!!" I didn't turn around cause I don't know who the fvck is yelling and if it was towards me.

As I kept on walking I hear running footsteps behind me and someone pushed me hard with his two hands on my backpack, as I try to gain my balance I hear the same voice yelling" You are not suppose to be on the sidewalk!!!"

I turn around and see a streetperson mean looking guy and I tell him "WTF are you doing?" as he got closer to me I could tell by his eyes that the guy was on some sort of hard drug l assumed crack but he wasn't skinny like a crackaddict but was actually strongly build.

He had that crazy look in his eyes. As he looked stright in my eyes he was beating his fists onto his chest, so I backed off and he nodded with his forhead like yeah I am kingkong of this streets and walked away with a swagger like he was the sh1t. I don't really understand what the fvck was his deal, but I felt p1ssed that I rationalized the whole thing and I really wanted to punch that fvcker out but I was too concerned with a junkie hopped on drugs with nothing to lose and possibly carrying a weapon of some sort.

How should I react next time if this same crazy guy shoves me again? Should I retailate?? or should I go find a cop (couldn't find one today on the streets). How should I handle myself if this situation happens again?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Coincidence? I point you in the direction of another thread I recently noticed.

The George McFly Backshot has gone stale, I haven't picked up a girl using it recently..... well ever..

I was walking down the street, when I saw a cute HB. I needed a new approach to show how alpha I am.

I thought, whats the most alpha animal in the jungle? A Lion. Hell no. A Lion eats things weaker then it. An Elephant? Well he's got the biggest c*ck, but he's too slow. A Gorilla - Faultless.

So I grabbed the HB on the arm and said "I think thats a terrorist about to set off a bomb!" I pointed at a guy carrying a backpack. She grabbed onto my bicep, so I tensed and told her "Things will be alright baby."

I called at the terrorist to stop, "Hey you! STOP!" but he kept going. I ran up and slammed him in the back. He gave me sh*t so I banged my alpha gorilla chest at him.

Beard 1.
Terrorist 0.

Of course I don't need to tell you that I had sex with the HB wearing my tiger costume. Because you all know how it ends.

Sounds like he has schizophrenia to me. Obviously not on meds. A lot of the "street people" are the result of state mental hospitals "freeing" patients that really need to be in a hospital unless they are in a supported living environment. People with this mental illness often have eyes that look kind of glazed over. You just know something isn't right with them by their eyes. They hear voices in their head telling them to do things. Most of the time they are harmless...but the worst thing you can do is challenge or provoke a shcizophrenic person while they are behaving in a bizarre way. They do have the potential to be very violent and dangerous because of the paranoia and voices in their head. Don't confront people like that. Just de-escalate the situation as best you can and move on. In the situation you found yourself in...you should have just stepped off the sidewalk and let him pass and then step back on it and continue on your way.
