I am 37 (can pass for 30-32) 6 feet tall, in shape and have full head of hair.

As far as facial aesthetics are concerned, I lean more towards the average.

However, with the height, build and hair, I give myself a 7 to 7.5.

I met a girl the other night in NYC who was a solid 8 to 8.5. She was striking since she was tall, brunette, thin and her face was pretty too (but not model pretty).


I will have to admit, I felt she was a little bit out of my league, but got the number anyway.


And then I started thinking.....wait a minute. Women already have a two part advantage on men as far as looks are concerned right off the bat.

1.) Hair--Women have long shiny attractive hair that gives them a boost in the attraction game over men instantly. Attractive hair (along with eyes) can make a girl with an average face appear attractive.

2.) Makeup!--You ever see what good makeup application can do for a woman's looks?

So, that 7.5, 8, 9 is probably not better looking than you, you are probably more equal in the looks department because of the above two points!

You forgot the boobs, the soft hairless skin (yeah, maybe it's shaved), not to mention all the curves. But you're right, women have the automatic advantage over men when it comes to looks (unless they're hideous, of course).

Women are naturally more aesthetic than men, they are designed to attract the male eye. Women are about being attractive, and they enhance it with the long hair, makeup, etc. This is because they are the pursued and the men are the pursuers. Men's bodies are more functional in nature. There really is no comparison between the sexes when it comes to looking good to attract a mate. This is why a man's social status, money, power, confidence, and game come into play. Looks are important for men, but it's not all about looks.

That's not to say men can't look good, they can, but it's apples and oranges.

The woman I'm interested in now is drop-dead gorgeous and her last serious boyfriend was a dumpy-looking dude who makes me look like an Adonis. But he had charisma and confidence and he wasn't afraid to go for it, and I think that's the key. In fact, I probably wouldn't be trying with her right now if I didn't know from his example that looks aren't EVERYTHING to her. But having seen her with him before they split up, I'm no longer intimidated by the fact that she happens to be gorgeous.

Men are judged by what they have. The hot girlfriends I was with brought me admiration from men and women. it showcases the fact that my value is real, even if it's not apparent (He's doesn't have looks or money so why the hell is she with him? Oh he's kinda awesome to hang out with.)

My friend is a short goofy looking guy, but his girl is almost 20 years younger and smoking hot. Then you realize he has about a mill in property a couple of businesses and a war stories from the service and that he's a cool guy. But looking at him you wouldn't know. The trophy on your arm says you won at something in life.

Interesting again! I can't really say I disagree. I think this is a pretty good explanation as to why men seek to get validation from attractive women. "If I can land this hot chick it proves that I have high value".

Even though I know the PUA community preaches heavily against getting validation from women, it is a pretty ingrained tendency in a lot of men, I think. When a hot chick singles you out for attention in front of your friends it feels good, does it not? Yah PUA's like to teach against it because really how can you sell books to losers telling them otherwise? Now does it really mean I have value or is it just perceived value? With women it doesn't matter. Perceived value is value. With men, they may get to know you and see you are a douchebag and walk away. We all know that guy with the hot girl and the nice car who's a sh1tty person. PUA's should teach knowing the difference and not basing your internal sense of value on possessions, but also know how to use them to maximize your mission.

Take a look at strip clubs and pornography. There is a far, far greater demand to see naked women bodies than there is to see naked male bodies. Nothing subjective about it.

But they did erect statutes to women in ancient times. As for strip clubs/pornography, women get turned on in different ways. Visual stimulation alone is often not sufficient.

The point is, take a martian and show him a naked man and a naked woman. I doubt they'd find one more appealing than the other.

Only weak and low self-esteemed men need a 'Showcase' woman at his side.

If a man is truly a DJ and capable of any woman of his choice, his first choice then is most likely NOT a showcase woman. He would consider a lot of other qualities to go with a woman that truly makes her a REAL woman instead of just how hot she is - this is destined to be a failure and make you an AFC.

Any experienced true DJ would know the amount of BULLSH!T comes with hotness. Only AFC and wanna be DJs are still seeking that validation to have a BETTER looking woman at his side because he has a poor low self image still.

No man needs a woman to define himself or his existence as worthy. This is a thread full of AFC's talking and smacking telling each other how they deserve hot women, that is all.
