Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Finally, I think I have gotten the interest of the girl I want. It has taken nearly a year, with lots of detours and moments of frustration, but it has definately been worth it. While some would argue that I have wasted my time, I disagree. My reasoning is that while there are plenty of attractive and interesting women out there, only a very few hold my interest deeply, so I am going spend my time on them and not the maybes.

What I my intentions with this post is to track my success or failure with her. I will post every few days on whats up, my basic strategy, and her reaction. Hopefully, this will let me stay on target better.

Background info on her and the situation

She used to work for me about a year and a half ago. We got along great and our coworkers always though she was trying to get at me. Never got with her then because I don't date direct reports. Anyway, she quit about 6 months ago. Tried to set up something, but never got an answer from her so I just started dating other women. Anyway, she came by just yesterday, gave me her number, and made it obvious that she wants to go out. I intend to call her on Monday ( first day off) and see where it goes from there.

All coments are appreciated. So go ahead and flame if you feel its necessary.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Good luck man....set up a date and show her a good time. If you've been dating other women, good for you...waiting for one person is too risky, I say.

So you have a number.....call her up, take her to do something fun, don't be too excited on the date and ask her for a relationship like a chump and you will be fine. Keep it short, keep it light, keep it fun.

Good luck Cineophile

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Thanks homies for the great vote of confidence. I appreciate it.

Maybe it is just me, but I think one of the big issues about being a DJ is not to settle for anything less than the best. Yeah, maybe it has taken a while, but I feel it is worth it. I would rather work hard, be patient, and get a 10, than be lazy and have a bunch of 6's.

Also, I created this thread to test out in real time my strategy and see how well it would work. It is really easy for most of the posters here to go on about theory but I want to read about things that have field tested and work. Here i intend to detail what I did and what worked and/or failed. Even if it does'nt work out, I can at least learn from my mistakes and correct them in the future.

There are all kinds of ways to be a DJ. What is important is not so much your technique or looks but your goals and desire to fufill them.

Thanks for the comments anyway.

Call Results

So I when ahead and gave her ring today. It was not quite what I expected. I opened with " Hey Troublemaker, miss me." and she was very receptive, telling me about her day and other asorted nonsense.

So then, I tell her about how I will be going to Brazil in three months and how excited I am. Then for no reason at all she starts talking about taxes. I go WTF?. Brazil has got to be more interesting than a W2. The only response I could think of was "Well, when you get your return back, you will need to take me out some place expensive." She replied " That's a great idea. Let me take you out Sunday!!". So I guess I have a date by default. So we will see how it goes.

Sounds to me like she wants you to do her tax return for her, and she's buttering you up for it.

Good luck though.

Does she have children? If so...she probably is like me and gets an insane tax refund with Earned Income Credit. I LOVE tax time. I usually get over 4k federal and my state has EIC and Renters Rebate. If she has kids, she probably just found out she's getting several thousand back...and that's always more exciting than talking to someone. :D

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.
