Date my ex? WTF???

I was at a girlfriends house the other day and she was watching a show called "Date my ex". I couldn't believe it. This barely average girl who's the ex of some AFC (who's obviously still in love with her) is now dating other guys after their break-up and he's helping her. The girl looks much better in the promos.

The kicker is the ex-boyfriend is a successful millionaire, young and decent looking. Meanwhile she acts like she's hot sh*t. Sometimes I think guys are as easy to manipulate as women. Obviously this "average girl" has such attitude and thinks she's so hot, she has convinced other guys she's all that.

Apparently,she broke up with the millionaire because she thought she could do better.

This show is proof low self esteem for men or women will get you a partner much lower on the looks and personality scale then you deserve.

Yea man, it seems there is nothing an AFC will do to gain favor of a woman, even if that means setting her up with another dude.....this type of stuff is messed up and makes me want to puke. I don't think I'll be watching that show, I'd hate to be infected, even a little, by this type of ridiculous behavior. Then again, it's a reality show, so I suppose it's supposed to be ridiculous.

The ex-couple, Slade and Jo are from a previous season of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Orange County." Their relationship was chronicled from early on until it ended.

It is the PERFECT example of how guys turn AFC over a random decent looking girl. Slade is in his 30s(or maybe even 40s) and has a child from a previous marriage. Jo is in her 20s and is still enjoying life. After becoming ingaged to Jo, Slade went from Alpha Male to AFC. Slade wanted Jo to settle down, stop going out with her girl friends, slow down on the drinking and to stop working so she could take care of the house. Basically clipped her wings.

Jo felt the burden of being Slade's object of desire and wanted out. Slade begged and cried and so did Jo but eventually she moved out to pursue her dreams of becoming a rock star.. all with Slade writting the checks(paying for her car, apartment, studio time etc..). Now Slade is watching over Jo as she picks from a group of guys, hoping he will be the one she picks. It may end up like that, and if it does.. its all media programing.. making all the AFCs believe AFC is the way to go.

I can't stand to look at this girl Jo. She actually thinks she's hot and even with clumps if make-up she barely rates a 7. I've seen much hotter latinas than that without the attitude or make-up. I must admit she has a hot body though.

This guy Slade must be blind and have such low self esteem he can't figure out he can do so much better than this horseface. This show is painful to watch and Slade just makes me want to kick his dumb ass!!!

or maybe not. The guy never was an alfa male. He tries to act tough with the guys staying at his house, but he just comes off as an insecure loser trying to be a man.

1) These guys are obviously projecting some frustration that manifests from their own life onto this show.

2) Their displaying jealousy and the lack of ability to have enough of an abundance mentality to stay friends with and help out their ex-girlfriend. The fact the dude is helping her obviously means he isnt afraid to lose her -- and why should he be? There are plenty of women out there. Is he suppose to be bitter, not talk to her, not do a tv show with her and call her a bit-ch? Would that make him a player? I don't think so, it would make him an AFC.

3) These guys are in a internet thread flaming some girl who is on television and most likely is hotter and has more going on for her in her life (doing a tv show) than whatever girl they are dating right now if they are even dating anyone at all.

I can never understand the pain frustration and hate that is abundant on these forums. I guess I know the simple truth but just dont want to admitt it. the simple truth is that the majority of guys that are on these forums, which are suppose to be about pimpin it up -- are really just bitter frustrated anti-socialists who really are not capable of contributing any relevant information that can help someone get better with women, their too stuck on their pain.

From what the OP said the AFC millionaire still likes the girl and he is still doing nice things for her as AFC's do.

What exactly is so cool about a guy who's gf lost interest in him even though he's a millionaire, so he used his influence to get her a show so that he can keep contact with her and have her parade guys in front of him? The show's theme song is "You can't control me"....

This millionare dude seems like the total opposite of an AFC. For christ sake, the guy is helping hook her up with some new dude. If he was an AFC he would be weeping and begging for her back, yet he is trying to help her move on as it seems he has.

I think it takes great inner strength to get over the bitterness and crappy feelings after a break up and remain friends with an ex if she truly is a good person with a lot in common with you, and the break wasn't bad. I mean you don't stop caring about a person overnight, and this guy obviously still cares about her and wants her to be happy in life. Nothing wrong with that. Better then sitting in depression or anger over getting dumped.

Aside from that i'm sure he makes a nice penny from this show and gets more publicity, so he's helping himself out as well.

EDIT: I didn't know he was one of the competitors on the show, thought he was just hooking her up with a new dude. I can see that being interpeted as AFC, but honestly, it's reality TV, meaing there is a 95% chance it is a bunch of scripted BS. I don't know why all you guys are getting angry over it. Do you guys watch any of the numerous reality love shows on TV? They are always bull****, and only good for comedic value. The best being when they tricked some girl into thinking she was marrying a millionare and another when a bunch of guys unknowingly competed for a tranny.

I dont think you or playboy have ever watched a second of either show. Slade is portrayed as someone who is still not over Jo. He watches the dates she goes on, cries when she has a good time and tells her how hard it is to watch her flirt with other guys.

On another show, they showed the break up and why it went down- you could see the AFC dripping off of him. In one of the episodes Slade/Jo where on a date and Slade got pissed because Jo was drinking too much. He brought up how hes tired of her going out with the girls and bringing home random guy's buisness cards(they where engaged at the time). Jo then told him that she was tired of him being so insecure and that this wasent the man she wanted to marry. Slade ended up walking out on the date, leaving her there. The next day he calls her and calls her and calls her and calls her. Eventualy she comes home crying, Slade tells her hes sorry and that he wants to be with her forever. They get into another fight and Jo ends up leaving again. She comes back to pick up her things to leave for good and Slade takes the license plate off of her car.. she drives off anyways and Slade follows her.
