There's a lot of rap out there that talk about the hood either just ranting how much they hate their lives or how hard it made them. Though I've never heard of a rap that described thug life like this, it really brings a new perspective to the whole idea of being a gangster. It talks about a guy who slowly works his way to becoming a gangster, and his final test was to rape a random woman they captured who ended up being his own mother. Though these words really made me think last night:

"So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever."

Not sure if the story is true or not, seems a little too convenient of a situation but I do know gangsters are that crazy. I know a couple of bloods, they do some crazy and stupid stuff for fun, like the other day one of them was telling me they went to a party, saw only ONE person they didn't like, grabbed their shotguns in their car and scared everyone out of the party. They didn't shoot but they just wanted to scare everyone.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I love that song. Its so gritty and the story it tells is so dark. I think it could easily be turned into a movie, something along the lines of Belly with Nas & DMX.

To wolf-check out Jedi Mind Tricks. They tell some pretty good stories in their songs.
The song Misunderstood by Common is a pretty good story. If you haven't heard it, you should check it out.

Wow, I haven't heard that song in like 5 years and its still powerful.

I don't think the story is true as in it is an experience Immortal Technique went through, but true in the sense as things like that happen out on the streets.

I've always heard about guys like Immortal Technique and Jedi Mind Tricks but I brushed them off assuming they were like 50 cent, Ja Rule, etc. But they were more like the Eminem, Tupac mold. I'm going to start listening to them more often.

Just listened to it right now, it literally had me mesmerized. Not in the Hollywood or Disneyland type of fanatical way, but the type where you're so absorbed in something anything else doesn't matter.

That song by Immortal Technique doesn't even sound realistic but don't get me wrong it's pretty good. However, I think 3 sides to a story by Joe Buddens is very much on point and it gives you many different perspectives on just 1 situation but you have to listen to it very carefully. ;)

The song by Jedi Mind Tricks is very true because I actually talked to a Vietnam war vet (he doesn't even look his age) and the stuff he was telling me was crazy. He even told me that his mind is completely fuked up because he sometimes wakes up at night due to images he sees because of the kids and women he had to kill. The messed up thing is that due to the fact he had to kill so much, when he was coming back to the U.S, they would send the soldiers to Germany to "de-brief" them. I asked him what is "de-briefing" and he said...

"...well they take you in a room and they tell how that since you are going back home that you CAN'T kill people anymore...".

Could you imagine how messed up they must have been for you to TELL you that you can't kill people anymore. For us it's something we don't think about but to tell someone that is just scary.

I'm a very un-emotional person, but that song gave me a tear in my eye.

So there were "a couple of them" and "ONE person they didn't like" and they grabbed shotguns?

You would think that them outnumbering them 2-1 they wouldn't need shotguns, but since they're "gangsta's" they're not as tough as they think.

Couple of punks. It would have been funny is someone saw them coming in with shotguns and capped their dumb asses.

No worries, these guys won't be around much longer.

Dead or in jail is where they will soon end up.
